Good day today. Two packages arrived. The first was in travel for a few days so I opened it up, cleaned the item and got rid of packaging. The second one was packed weeks ago (as per the seller) so I opened it, removed the contents and put the packaging into quarantine. Cleaned myself well afterwards. I am still not sure if all of this is really needed now but just in case.

Anyway....new mount...

And then the package from Ebay. Great deal for 1.5k imo. Reducer, Flattner, 1.7x extender, rings and dovetail, some adapters, clicklock, camera rotator, etc. Some of this I don't really need but it came as a package. And finally 76DCU in absolute mint condition - bought last year. For a 3" this scope is very, very light. I like it.

Little brother wanted to take a photo as well.

Absolutely wonderful! Congratulations.

I love my FC 76 DCU. Enjoy!

Oh God, and it was Red too........

You snagged yourself a true bargain with this and that fine scope as well.
I hope the set up works well for you.

A TS smartphone adapter with T2 connection.

Screws directly onto an eyepiece that has a T2 thread on the top so is much more solid than the type that clamps onto an eyepiece. All metal except for the phone clamp. The T2 connector can be fitted in a centre or offset mounting hole to suit the phones camera lens location. Incredibly simple and quick to set up. Place the phone in the clamp and slide it to the right height then the phone clamp assembly can be slid sideways to centre the lens. Then just one little lever locks everything in place. Took less than 10 seconds to fit and adjust the phone the first time I tried it. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Similar price to the Celestron NexYZ.. A simple idea that works although does require an eyepiece with a threaded top.

Also a set of springs for the primary mirror on my dob.

So that's why you bought the Hyperion! 🤣 That phone clamp looks quite a good item, it might be a useful accessory for my spotting scope. 🤔

Yes decided that I enjoyed a little bit of smartphone imaging but didn’t want to do any serious stuff so decided to sell the ZWO camera as it wasn’t getting used.

Think the TS smartphone holder was designed for spotting scopes in the first place. 🤔

Not a thread I’ve contributed to before, but this arrived for me today: 3F78FBD1-AA6F-46FB-9E45-C59508F8412A.thumb.jpeg.b117551ad4bbf1eb9150f5b203e49919.jpeg

unfortunately accompanied by this:

Up until recently I’ve been a purely visual observer, but I’ve had some fun of late with a DSLR and some prime focus work on my two (Undriven) scopes, so this felt like a natural next step.

So it's your fault. 🙂  I would be very interested to hear how you get on with your new purchase. I was thinking to get one of those 🙂  If you would be kind enough to let me know how you get on with it, I would be very grateful. What Camera are you going to mount on it?

A very basic lens cleaning kit. My 2 month refractor looks like someone just eat their dinner off the lens, a very messy eater - that leaves a lot of their dinner!

An early Fathers' Day gift from my kids 😎..

I owned a new Morpheus 17.5mm soon after their launch, having previously owned a 14mm which was excellent.. sadly, enforced early retirement necessitated my letting some kit go, but I always said the first eyepiece I would replace when circumstances allowed would be the Morph 17.5mm.

This one arrived with Royal Mail today..

Optically one of the 3 best eyepieces I've ever owned - and the most comfortable..👍:hello2:

Yes, one of the things I like about Baader equipment is that it is very versatile, and great value for money whilst delivering top class performance:thumbsup:

Thank you. I have two Canon EOSs (an unmodified 1000D and a modified 450D without the IR filter), my little Altair Starwave 70ed frac and a small collection of old Vivitar lenses.  So that’s my starting line-up, but I’ll see how I get on!!

Got my Esprit 150 and ADM dual mounting weaponry (from IKI and FLO) and  spent the morning setting it up...

Lovely set up.  I bought an ADM dual bar a few months ago, a solid bit of kit and helpful for those balancing adjustments on a dual rig.
