Cheers Steve.

The LVW 22mm is also one of my top 3..the third one, for the record is the Pentax  XW10mm/XL10.5mm (ok, that's 4 in total really!😂).

Dave

How do you find the XL vs XW in the FS128, Dave?
ive got a set of XL’s, but not tried an XW.

I have just got this out of self imposed isolation, after receiving the other day. ( Glad to know I am not the only one doing this! ) Perhaps not the best eyepiece out there, but the 10 mm is very good in my opinion, so I am hoping for similar quality with this one.

Now all I need is the clouds to co operate, and then decide if I can justify a similar sized Morpheus... :rolleyes2:

The BCO 18mm is a cracking eyepiece, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I have a pair that I use for binoviewing with my Lunt LS60 and they are great when the conditions allow.

I also use it regularly when mono viewing.

I certainly wouldn't be without mine.

Hi Jeremy,

I don't have either now, but I found it almost impossible to separate XLs and XWs apart from the XWs having a 70 Deg fov vd the XLs 65 Deg..you can notice the larger field in the XW, but speaking for myself, I found both to be equally sharp and contrasty..

Others with better eyes might call it differently though..

Dave

After a couple of months of wanted ads and scanning the classifieds, this baby came up!

This joins the 8mm Delos and a 24mm 82° ES to complete my “minimalist” eyepiece collection.

Quite a big baby! Very nice 👍

It's been a saga, but my counterweight bolt arrived today. Now need to get a 2 kg weight for it. This is strictly for AZ mode, hopefully balancing the ALT gear will stop it slipping.

Note the bolt is proper Astro black!

Here is my recent haul after its statutory quarantine period in the garage before being subjected to disinfectant wipes.

First off a Hawke Endurance 8x42ED Monocular - For watching the birds, not really purchased for astro use.

Then some bolts and 42mm diameter washers for a couple of wooden tripod projects that I have on the go, a Rigel Quikfinder from @lnlarxg and a Vixen tripod top to compliment my Vixen GP and finish off the TAL Wooden Tripod project very kindly donated to me by @Alan White.

I should have been looking to open some significant packages by now.

I seem to be having an inordinate amount of difficulty getting some companies to talk to me / respond to e-mails. I am well aware that they have some significant challenges at the moment due to reduced staffing levels etc. and the fact we've all gone on an equipment buying frenzy... 🤣

So, I can well understand that it takes time etc. but some seem to be beyond that. One just isn't replying at all to e-mails (I'm talking over 2 weeks now and several 'reminders' all unanswered). Another I cannot get through to on the phone at all (been trying for a week) and no response to e-mails sent 5 days ago.

I would be happy if I at least got an automated response which said "Thank you for your enquiry, we expect it to take x days to be able to respond", I would at least then know where I stood. It's not knowing that is frustrating.

Long-term, I will be spending a significant amount of money and even my initial purchases will be significant. This seems very odd. Are others in the same boat?

Have had very prompt responses from FLO and Telescope Express over the last few days. It seems some are handling things well. 👍🏻

Yes, I've had prompt responses from FLO, WEX and Ron at Moonlite with FLO replying on a Saturday and Moonlite replying on a Sunday.

Sorry to hear that you're not having such positive responses @Tenor Viol.

Mono printout of Dase Lunar Field Atlas (mirror version for refractor use). Shows a lot, plenty of space for adding notes and the like.

Thanks for that link @PeterW I've just downloaded the atlases I need.

Out of interest, where did you get the printout and binding done?

Pdf-print, but there are lots of other “pdf printing” we services online (I randomly picked one from a googling) Very fast. I’m thinking about putting together a Lunar100-200 recording booklet as people seem to have the Lunar100 covered.

OK I've given up on the other suppliers. I had an e-mail chat with FLO and was promptly assisted and I've now placed an order with FLO. The main hassle was over-zealous fraud protection systems from the bank - that required 2 hours on the phone to resolve...

As minimalist eyepiece collections go, I've seen worse.

Not a thread I’ve contributed to before, but this arrived for me today: 3F78FBD1-AA6F-46FB-9E45-C59508F8412A.thumb.jpeg.b117551ad4bbf1eb9150f5b203e49919.jpeg

Up until recently I’ve been a purely visual observer, but I’ve had some fun of late with a DSLR and some prime focus work on my two (Undriven) scopes, so this felt like a natural next step.

Good day today. Two packages arrived. The first was in travel for a few days so I opened it up, cleaned the item and got rid of packaging. The second one was packed weeks ago (as per the seller) so I opened it, removed the contents and put the packaging into quarantine. Cleaned myself well afterwards. I am still not sure if all of this is really needed now but just in case.

Anyway....new mount...

And then the package from Ebay. Great deal for 1.5k imo. Reducer, Flattner, 1.7x extender, rings and dovetail, some adapters, clicklock, camera rotator, etc. Some of this I don't really need but it came as a package. And finally 76DCU in absolute mint condition - bought last year. For a 3" this scope is very, very light. I like it.

Little brother wanted to take a photo as well.
