Lead singer of the Kaiser Chiefs and sometime mentor on one of the "talent" shows.  The Voice, perhaps?  He's hardly unknown.

Though I agree about Richard Burton.  He just *is* War of the Worlds and it doesn't matter who else does it, it will never be as good.

Just listened to it and I have to admit the old version is just better on all counts. Call me old but it didn't touch the version I've listened to 100s of times

Just Heard this is being delivered tomorrow, lol. Can't wait. I've a star analyser 100. Managed to get a decent spectrum of Vega before. So want to delve deeper into spectroscopy. Added the spectral chart of Vega.

Agree with all on this, I've listened to both this weekend on quite good headphones/hifi, and the original just works better for me 😀

Wikipedia describes Richard Burton's voice as a "mellifluous" baritone, which is defined in Latin as "flowing like honey"... enough said 👍

Collected locally yesterday a nice classic Towa 339 80mm f/15 under the Topic brand with most of the original accessories, flocked, and converted from 0.965" to 1.25" by @Dave1.

Photos to follow.

Really excited to observe with this one based on Dave's planetary observing reports from 2018.

Now I REALLY do need to slim down my telescope collection as I fear that it's very much getting out of hand.

Edit: From tests on scudding clouds this morning, this OTA looks like it can natively reach focus with binoviewers without the need for a GPC. 

This photo shows my Tak prism in place, but my Baader T2 prism diagonal and quick change adaptor have a shorter lightpath, just need to test on an astronomical target to be sure.

That thing looks absolutely... delicious!!

Well it is pretty expensive for a 13kg capacity mount, but on the other hand how much do you value your back?

just had a call from one of the suppliers of astro bits n bobs about a package I've been anticipating any day, given it shipped some days ago. Seems they'd generously added a freebie that resulted in it being rejected back to sender as it contained an item not legal for air-shipping. Twas a struggle not to fall out of my chair laughing when he explained what had happened 😄
