I've never been 100% happy with the supplied Sky-Watcher 9x50 finderscope on my 200P Dobsonian, so I ordered a RACI version from Auntie @FLOearlier in the week. It arrived this morning in a RM van...

The original is okay and accurate enough, but you have to be a contortionist to get full use out of it! 😱

No doubt, I'll have a month of crap weather for buying this! 🙄

An essential purchase IMO, trying to look through the straight finder really messes with my already weak back.  The raci is a welcome improvement and I am sure you will love it Merlin. I swapped the bracket over to the black one from my 200p so I have a black raci and bracket on the 300p and a white straight through finder and white bracket on the 200p 😁

I have the one 9x50 straight through finderscope that I use for both my skywatcher explorer 150p and skymax 127 and like you said without being a contortionist it's hard to use so I bought the 9x50 ra finderscope version from flo and it's brilliant as it's right way up and right way round so making star hopping and finding things much easier, we'll pleased with it.

What's up with those two?. They look like you just told them that the dog park has closed down.

Dr Becky's latest tome. If you haven't seen her she is an Oxford University astrophysicist who specialises in black holes. She is extremely knowledgeable on most space related subjects and her prof is Chris Lintock. She has a great channel on Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYNbYGl89UUowy8oXkipC-Q

I have just sold both of my 7mm UOVT's.  I never thought it would happen but they were not getting used anymore because of the eye relief, sadly.  Enjoy  a  superb eyepiece Neil...

It is their very well practiced "We have very important dog bums to sniff in the park, so whenever you're ready" stare.

Just been informed by FLO that my Berlebach report 312 in titanium grey has shipped. Photos tomorrow.

Nice one, you'll love it, the Report 372 is my most used and favourite tripod now 😀

Also good to see that @FLO are now stocking the Report tripod, I had to order from Germany last month 👍

I asked FLO if they could get it for me which they did. Actually cheaper than ordering direct from Germany as it must have come over with a FLO delivery. So no shipping cost added. Just the delivery from Flo hq.

Indeed, good to see they are holding it now, as it's a great grab and go tripod and I'm using it much more than my Uni 28. The other evening, I was able to carry the 372 one-handed, with ScopeTech Zero and C5, quickly out the front door to catch the moon and planets in a 30min cloud break.

I should point out that the ordering process from Germany (Teleskop Express) was very simple, quick and excellent customer service, but always nice to have a UK supplier, especially another good one like @FLO 👍

a few bits arrived today and wasn't intercepted and returned to sender like previous attempt 🙂image.png.56f4a7aa441eec6eaac55de5d9d192db.png

A Meade accessory tray with controller handset cradle - for the SW SynScan on the round leg steep tripod. The triangular trays are too big, just need to sort a securing screw for it and typically it ain't metric. If anyone knows the correct thread I'd appreciate a heads-up, else I'll use a M8 and wingnut which should secure it ok, M10 won't pass through the threaded hole.

Along with that a couple soft bino cases and straps, a SW EQ5 short plate for the 140mm tube rings that arrived the other day and will let me pop the TAL-1 onto the EQ5. Some bolt cases and also a couple 0.965 inch end caps.

Free gift of a lens pen too 🙂

Signs for the new obsy complex, "The Phoenix Complex" as suggested by popular vote on SGL. Plus obligatory mug and mouse mat for the obsy arrived today. On a side note, orders being taken from today, lol. Premier Observatory complex in Devon, lol.

Just fixed the sign to the obsy, looking brill and finishing touch to the rising from the ashes of my rebuild.

I'm looking for a tripod to put the iOptron Sky Guider on. I can't use the HEQ5 tripod because of the 'peg' and neither of my camera tripods is really sufficiently robust for a tracker... This seems like a good option, but rather more expensive than I'd like!
