A Samyang adapter 🙂

IMG_20200422_145950.thumb.jpg.ec83714fb2e35c2f8297d1cc35f621df.jpg

Oh..and a new pc for the Obs (I may be some time getting that all set up...!)

Helen

So I found out that the back of the Sony fit Samyang is different to the Canon even with the connector removed 😞  So adapter will have to go back to FLO 😞

On a happier note, the Obs computer seems ok so far! 🙂

The next piece of the puzzle will arrive early next week...

Waiting for mirror box?

Joke aside. Looking forward seeing the project you're working on. I have beaten stroller sitting in the doorway and am looking at it thinking "this can be used for a truss ota".....

Postie brought the Altair Astro adapter plate for my Starbase tri-pier.  Followed a couple of weeks later by the required spacer to allow the footing of the SXW to sit securely in the adapter plate.  Spacer was very kindly produced by an Astro friend with a  3D printer, works a treat.

Just a little helical focuser to use with my Telementor. The standard focuser takes a little patience to nail the focus so this should make life easier. Fitted to my T2 Zeiss Prism.

Believe me it's not exciting or innovative but necessary...

Let me guess, you're going to be tossed up in a basket to sweep the cobwebs off the sky?

Or maybe prop up a sheet to keep out  next door's security light?

Damn it Stub you're bloody clever!

Yes it's option number two. I've ordered a black tarp off ebay...

Good stuff. I tried mine briefly last night and it does just what I was wanting it to. Nice accurate focusing and much less vibration 👍👍

The postie just walked right past. Was expecting a small item from FLO. 🙁

Oh well....all I have to look forward to today is to Amazon delivering a new duvet cover . 😴😴😴

Found on my doorstep tonight when Amazon delivered. Postie didn’t leave a note or ring the doorbell so must have been sitting there all day.

Baader fine tuning ring to use as 2” nosepiece with the adapter received earlier this week. Now can give the camera a try in a scope. 👍🏻

I had a pleasant surprise today.
DPD turned up with a rather heavy box.
It contained my set of Lunar Cognita from Springer in Germany.
Very please indeed, very detailed, will keep me happy for years just reading it.

No picture - you all know what the set looks like.

Oh yes and a number of parcels from Screwfix, Toolstation and Electrical supplier.
Some for the Astro Project, some for the Garage and some for my Camper Van.

Guess what, Screwfix sent a load of plastic surface boxes in jiffy bag and surprise, surpris (no Cilla here) they are all smashed!

Yes, great little bits of kit, a (very) "poor man's feathertouch!"🤣🙃

I must have bought about 8 or 10 of these over the past decade, kept selling them on, but always eventually realised I need one again. The one I have now isn't going anywhere, and as I write is outside, attached to my FS128 via my Baader T2 prism awaiting full darkness in the next half hour or so..

Hermes called this evening with an impulse purchase I made a few days ago, having read the thread about wooden eyepiece boxes. It's this one :-

Ordered Items:

Item Description Quantity Price
617374_1000_1_170.jpg Wooden Storage Box 35cm x 25cm x 17cm
Product code: 617374-1000
1 £8.00
Postage Cost: £4.50
Total Amount: £12.50

Cost me all of £12.50 posted from Hobbycraft! Very lightweight, but seems reasonably well made and I've fitted some pluck foam this evening and done the first coat of mahogany stain. It will take up to 15 x 1.25" eyepieces.

I'll probably upgrade the hinges and front latch, and maybe add a carry handle..something to keep me occupied during lockdown (when not doing endless gardening, crazy paving repairs, painting etc etc!

Dave
