Only very briefly with the 76p it gave some good views of the moon.

I am hoping to try it in Venus later in the 200p

I'll be interested to hear what your thoughts are on it. 😉

It’s back 🙂

The return of the little 1.25” crayford that I sold with a scope earlier this year. Had the chance to buy it back and so I did. Perfect for the Omegon 127 Mak. 👍🏻

Looks brand new!!

It does indeed @RayD. I chose one from MPB in their 'Good' category rather than 'Excellent'. Under 10,000 shutter count, very pleased. Also managed to bag myself a Peltier cooler on AstroBuyAndSell last night so looking forward to that arriving in the next couple of days.

Excellent!  What a great way to get a decent camera.  Looks like you may have bought some clear skies with it as well, which is unusual 🙂

Mr Postie must be getting plain sick of me - or enjoying the additional exercise on my driveway.

Following such excellent advise on here and research (and less that 2 weeks since I purchased my first scope!) I have opted for the Sky-watcher 72ED Pro as my first astrophotography dedicated scope. Being one of the more budget conscious apochromatic reflectors, it will give me good starter results with a forgiving wider field of view, should make a great travel scope and can always be used as a guide scope much further down the line.

Paired with the Canon EOS 600D that arrived yesterday, I am looking forward to getting it out in some clear skies - skies that will be cloudy for a while I guess in response to my purchase!

A rather large shoe box arrived today..that's funny, I had my new walking shoes delivered just yesterday??

Hang on, it's not a new box, it's an old one, and it contained a rather large eyepiece...

I've shown it next to two of my Carton Japan "normal" eyepieces😱😱..it's a Large Unit!!

I've almost stopped buying eyepieces in the past 12 months, but once in a while something pops up that is hard to resist -and this was one of those things!

I've read very good things about these Speers Waler variable power EPs..not a zoom in the strict sense of the word, but certainly offers large (80 deg+) fov at each magnification (7 steps from 5mm to 8mm in half mm increments), but some refocusing is needed between steps. The photos show it "closed" at 8mm and "open" at 5mm!

I'm really looking forward to trying this big fella out soon!

Dave
