Hah... Well I don't believe it... It is a Nadira observing chair and my Christmas present. This is torture I have to wait until then. Christmas is aaaaages away!  😁

Well, I guess you’ll just have to sit it out. Oh sorry, you can’t 🤣

Will be worth the wait. You can spend Christmas Day sitting on the throne.

The third proof copy of this book came yesterday. Finally got the right combination of ink, line widths and paper!

What is that you posted? Is the circle around the target the circle on the opposite page? Seems soo obvious now. I think that is a penny drop moment.

The finder chart shows the FOV of a 5° finderscope centered in the target. The sketching circle on the facing page would usually be tge FOV of the main telescope. Thanks for the question, I clearly need to add an explanatory note!

The postman safely brought a ToPic 80mm f15 today (Towa 339).  All looks in good order on the “church spire” test.

Just need these clouds to clear…

Thank you! Yes it is a Berlebach 312 report with an SW pillar. Hiding behind the scope is an AZ GTi.

Be careful when you pull the pin , er , that is a hand grenade isnt it 😀

Great Eyepiece .

He he... indeed, does look like one for sure 🤣

Yes it's lovely, I've had the XW 30 for over a year and did have an XW 40 last year, but sold it because (at the time) I found it gave too large an exit pupil for the scopes I had then... however, now I can really make use it.... one is back in the fold again now 👍

I'll spend quite a chunk of Christmas day sitting on the throne after a huge lunch...

(Blame Jeremy, he baited me!)

Technically only the ring and finder sets were delivered (also an unseen prism), I had to pick up the rest myself over the w/e. ;) A handle is yet to be identified. :D

After a 6 month wait, one returned telescope, two delays due to manufacturing issues which resulted in me choosing to change to another telescope; I finally received a William Optics FLT 120 with flattener and diagonal!

I shall name it "The Big Chungus". It won't see first light here in Wales for at least a week due to cloud, which I'm told by local weatherman Tom Jones "is not unusual".

Big thanks to @FLO for answering all of my emails, stupid questions and pestering over the past 6 months 😊 I should point out that my opening paragraph was of no fault of FLO, they were simply the middle man in all of this.

Looking good… I’m sure you’ll get many hours of observing joy from that setup 😀
