Slightly off topic but my wife's 50th birthday card arrived today from the UK post marked 4th Jan from her UK friend and her birthday was 18th Jan So things are moving just about.

Just about moving, almost, maybe.

Today, the US Postal Service delivered my January issue of Sky & Telescope magazine. Normally, would have arrived ~25 November.

A very nice New Old Meade 4000 Japan  UWA 8.8mm 84 Deg fov.

Bought new from BC&F in 2007 and never used.

Has 2" and 1.25" barrels like my Nagler T2 12mm and Morpheus 17.5mm.

One of the best Meade branded eyepieces ever made IMHO.

Binoviewer bundle arrived today. Bought used off ABS. 2 x 18mm & 2 x 10mm classic ortho’s. 2.25x Barlow included also which should work well with my hyperflex zoom. Looking forward to putting them through their paces in the binoviewer.

Nice! Is the screw to prevent it from sinking too far into a 1.25" focuser or diagonal?

Hi Robert, Chris,

To be honest with you I'm not sure:glasses12::)..my T2 Nagler had the same setup, but the screw was missing, and I've not missed it..the 2" barrel fits into my 2" diagonal and is held by the diagonal's compression ring, and the same applies with the 1.25" barrel in my 1.25" Baader T2 prism...maybe someone who does know can chip in?

I'm going to stop looking at this section of the astro lounge because I'm starting to get really jealous of other members' gear 🤣

Ha Ha 🙂

Yes I did that a long while ago, just happened to see your comment on the latest posts on the main forum page and it made me chuckle otherwise I try not to look 🙂
I used to look and ended up costing me a fortune and then somebody always buys something better just as you receive something, I just wish I did not have such a materialistic nature.

Dave, I think the screw is so you can attach an aftermarket handle.

Think I saw those on ABS and was mighty tempted myself but resisted.

I’m in the early days of binoviewing so I’m not quite sure which eyepieces to get to go with my WO 20mm & Celestron 26mm 🤔

Let us know how you get on with those BCO’s, the 2.25x Barlow is brilliant, I use it all the time with my BV’s & my zoom eyepiece!

This brilliant beauty arrived today courtesy of @banjaxed my new to me motorised focuser for my skymax 127, can't wait to get it installed and first light 🤔☁️. This will now give me perfect vibration free focusing and make it so much easier when usding combined with batinov mask, no more shakey moving from focuser to laptop for me now. Thanks again Maurice 👍👌

Enjoy 👍🏻

Indeed. Just too much temptation. Also must stop browsing the Berlebach tripods.

Be very careful... it's starts with just the one then you find another plus an observing chair living in your office... fortunately, they look so nice that (as we've mentioned before) they're quite partner/wife friendly 👍🤣

I think it is just the locking screw. I use it to secure [replaced the metal screw on my 'smoothside' 8.8 UWA with a nylon one and the one supplied with my 13mm Nagler type 1] the e/p to the side wall of eyepiece holder with my 1.25 star diagonal or other 1.25" accessory [remembering not to loose the one that is supplied with said items by placing them in an empty 35mm film cannister] or double-up, hence the notch on the 2" nosepiece.

Arrived today.

Finally a chipped adapter that works with my Canon 80D, tried it out with my M42 lenses and my ZS71 scope and the AF confirm is spot on, should even make Lunar imaging easier with correct exposures..
