What did the postman bring?

Just received from FLO a ZWO EAF and 3D printed ProAstroGear mount which holds the EAF, ASI Air Pro and the handle mount onto my Redcat 51.

A very affordable way to mount the EAF onto the Redcat whilst also holding the ASI Air too. I will be attaching shorter cables between camera and ASI Air so at least it won't end up looking like some form of spaghetti monster in the end haha.

See the before and after pictures.

About three years ago I ordered a dob scope cover from someone on the Internet in the UK, someone who makes them privately.  It is superb and only cost about £40 - much less than the Telegizmos one.  Can anyone recall the name of them please because for the life of me I cannot find it in my records and my Google ninja is failing me too...

Not the postman.. But the idiot in the photo.. Driving 300 miles for this baby..
C925. seen with my asi533 fitted.

The funding of this to be paid for by selling a bunch of stuff.. So keep watching fer some bargains.

Of course now I've got all my dream equipment, I'm already thinking about building an observatory... It never ends!!

Nice glass in those !

I think it's closer to a 2.2x in practice.

Very nice @Alan White if it's as good as the 18mm Ultima I have then you'll enjoy using it.

Very nice Alan.
Gotta love that old school Celestron design. Not the first time an older astro design has humbled the brand’s modern equivalent….. (cough cough Vixen….)

IMG_20210913_200114.thumb.jpg.dd75336488300488ce379b69c0249483.jpgWell not exactly the postman but this is my new, albeit second hand, largest telescope to date, the Skywatcher 300p flextube.

It was bought from a fellow SGL member, and looks like it was well looked after.

I'm really curious to see how the views will compare to my recently sold 200p.

An increase in aperture of 4 inches.

Exciting times 🙂

Postie delivered this impressively hefty maxvision 24mm eyepiece to me today,

max24mm.jpg.e95b1607865b75563e017c770d62f834.jpg

bought from JeremyS .       Thank you, but the package appears to have included some slightly used clouds as well ...

Heather

They are very nice wide field eyepieces. Performance close to black and green things that cost a heck of a lot more :thumbright:

Thanks, I'm hoping it will be a decent step up from my BST 25mm, which is fine in my mak, but I really don't like it at all in the f5 heritage dob.

Was that due to chromatic aberration at all?

I similarly found the views less impressive through the Heritage 150p than my 102 Mak. This was using 26mm and 17mm Plossls.

The 25mm BST Starguider is not the best of that eyepiece line, especially in faster scopes. It does pretty well at F/8 and slower though. The 18mm, 12mm and 8mm are somewhat better corrected in faster scopes.
