Yes it doesn’t give away a lot with its obscure packaging and it’s definitely not the sexiest astronomy buy ever but  inside this bubble wrap is a cover for the 12” Dob to keep it nice and protected on its new home in the shed !  Thanks RVO for the speedy service . :)

Which one did you go for? Have been considering one for the same reason. I might be leaving mine in the shed a little more often this year.

i went for the Telegizmo vertical cover as the scope is left in the shed rather than outside for any length of time ... i think there are nore durable ones available, but this will do a grand job i'm sure :)

Be interested to see a pic Stu. I’d only go for the £60 one rather than the 365 cover.

My dob truck turned up today at long last. I wanted the P handle variant but no stock till Nov. It’s got the longer folding plate at the bottom though, which is the main thing. Just need to add some sort of filler at the top to cushion the tube (a garden cushion works as a temporary solution)

Another couple of small presents just landed. Been meaning to add one of the black diamond head torches and at £17 for the little one, couldn’t resist. Works well in red mode.

Also added a Baader fine tuning ring for the 10E. I have a televue one on the 13E but slightly cautious as I’d read that the baader thread doesn’t lock down all the way, but all good. Half the price so had to be tried.

image.thumb.jpg.1d03f2502ba111f9c33980075df700e3.jpgES 24mm 68 deg. This will fill a gap between 32mm and 16mm OVL Nirvana.

I’m also building an observing chair.  Got some more screws from delivered from Screwfix today, if that counts for this thread 🤪

After a couple of months waiting, this was supposed to be delivered on Monday but turned up from FLO today instead.

A Berlebach Report Module 1 and module wrench.

To convert my Baby Berlebach Report 723 from this:

To this:

Hopefully the flat plate should make it a more stable setup for my solarquest mount and solar scopes.

Hi stu1smartcookie could you show wants under the bubble wrap my 12"skywatcher dob also lives in the shed anything to stop the spider's getting in (don't know how they do ) is an good idea

Hi Dave first of all put some mint in the shed .. spiders hate it … the dob cover has a drawstring but my wife also made a cover for the scope base that should prevent intruders .

ALARMING EDIT

I will be sending the cover back .. the cover is superb , but , the scope won’t fit in the shed!!!!! The wife has a lot of gardening stuff in there already . So peace has broken out and Elena has agreed to live with the scope in the house ! Therefore no cover needed ! Lol

Probably interested if you want to move on. Have been clearing out the shed today working whether it would be ok to store for long periods 🤔

Maybe give M27 and M57 a go. Depending on your skies you could also try the Veil. An OIII is better on this but an UHC will work fine too.

+1 for M27 & M57 they are both high up just now if your neck can take it. Another that shows up really nicely with a UHC is M17 (swan or omega nebula) but quite low in the sky.

Astro related, honest.

Plano Toolbox, or in this case all in one Astro Box.

Add in some foam pad and then some kit...

And it all fits from 2 boxes to one, all catches hold without excitement, the old one had a special trick....
and this is all waterproof and wipe clean, fits in the car better as well.

The idea of such a case belongs to @iPeace and the home for 'Stanley' of course, thanks Mike.
