Not astro related? Well certainly my wife and credit card hope so, because it is already giving me ideas about what weight and bulk I can actually manage. :rolleyes2:

It folds up compact, has very good wheels and has a capacity of 250KG. It is also only £44.99.    https://www.screwfix.com/p/shovel-hand-truck-250kg/3327p?_requestid=455873

The base is 50cm x 34 cm or so, With the addition of a little plywood and a bungee, I am imagining a certain dob on there... :embarassed:

I remember placing a wanted ad here and on abs when i first started for one of these- had a dream of building my big 12” dob and spending hours trawling the Milkyway with this eyepiece. 2yrs later i finally found one. It’s a Tal 24mm UWA :) Now I just need to build the dob 🤣

Today I received an order from RVO containing a PrimaLuceLab auto focuser, larger bracket and temperature probe for my refractor. Sadly, I ordered the items just before two of these focusers came up for sale on here! I have the worst luck on times 🙁

Postie has been and gone, several days ago to be honest, but we were away.
Another old friend returns, something I said would not happen,
I was having a dummy spitting over undercuts so sold this and others,,,,,but why?

Anyway here we have it, a black box.

If the undercuts still get to you Alan, try adding a parfocalising ring. I’ve done that to all my TV EPs and I don’t even think about undercuts anymore.

That’s too rich for me Jeremy! 🤣🤣

I went down the insulating tape route with my 24mm Panoptic, a couple of turns to fill the undercut then clamped it down hard using the Tak prism I had at the time and it hasn’t shifted in years. Does the trick nicely 👍

TV Sacrilege!

I hope at least that you used the appropriate tape.

Burnhams' Celestial Handbook Volumes 2 & 3..IMG_20220216_152245644.thumb.jpg.2f13214851919bbb7c5248d73b5900b3.jpg

I had a set of these once before and let them go, regretting it since.

The amount of info in these volumes is astonishing, intimidating even, but once you start reading about each constellation, Mr Burnhams' enthusiasm really draws you in.. ok, they are old now, but still very useful and informative, with loads of tables and maps etc of objects.

I will source a copy Vol 1 soon to complete the set, and these will complement my more modern, recently bought two volume "Night Sky Observer's Guide" set really nicely😉.

Good idea Jeremy and I don’t think they are that expensive.  Got a pair of Pentax 8.5XF’s that tilt over slightly when tightened in my WO BV’s thanks to those dratted undercuts. I’ve tried tape but it still catches in the eyepiece holder lock ring 😩

I've thought about getting some of these since the barrel of my TV 2X Barlow is too long to use in my Baader prism without hitting the surface of the prism.

I think it would be a simple and easy fix.

My very first 2" eyepiece it was recommended to me by a very good friend so looking forward to trying this out.

It's a very nice eyepiece... I used this as a "finder" eyepiece in my little Tak (FS-60CB) until recently. It's now got a home on the ST80 which I donated to the local Scout Group a few months back, and they love it too😀

What's this, then?

IMG_20220217_120912.thumb.jpg.caf7e5bf57b062f934704f627fe90735.jpg

It turns into:

IMG_20220217_144936.thumb.jpg.5b16e5ce750a7ce33a873d932a797997.jpg

StellaLyra 8" dob.

It's freaking huge next to my Heritage Flextube 150p dob! And SWMBO hasn't seen it yet.....😱

Think I'll do an unboxing thread....due warning so you can ignore it! 😄
