What did the postman bring?

FLO kindly sent my latest purchase of a Thousand Oaks glass solar filter for my Tv 85, fits well and gave it first light today. I didn’t use my continuum filter which I’m sure would’ve added more granulation, but using a Panoptic 19mm I did get to seem some in the “sweet spot”. I tried doing a afocal shot, but I’m too unsteady so gave up. Will place the phone steady on it next time.

Second item I didn’t purchase, but were thrown out, I work for a waste company, and knowing what they were, I jumped at them. There’s eighteen in all out of a collection of twenty I believe, still-enough reading to be getting on with.

Counting down the months to retirement…..47!
looking forward to that. I’m building up a collection of scopes and eyepieces whilst I still have an income!

Not the postman but my son and daughter in law, who brought this along to The Spade Oak where we had dinner to celebrate my 59th and a belated celebration of my wife's birthday-

Should keep me out of trouble for a little while.

ASIAIR PRO number 2...

Usually buy everything from FLO.. still will. but.. well.. got ZWO sale email, didn't know FLO was gonna do it too.. and took a gamble on buying a second asiair pro direct.. looked like it might work out at about 185 quid inc postage if I didn't get stung on duty...if I did, well still might be a bit cheaper than normal price.

arrived today! and looks like no duty! oh.. and with exchange rate it didn't work out at 185 quid...

it worked out at 158 quid !! all in inc postage.

🙂

Fingers crossed for you but in the past I have received the duty claim from the delivery agent (DHL, UPS etc) a few days after delivery.

It has been a long time coming but I finally found a Samyang 135mm F2.0.

The very very nice postman delivered it to me personally this very morning.

It is the most gorgeous thing I have seen, I cannot wait till my gizmo (http://www.astrokraken.fr/samyang-135mm-f-2-c30078976) arrives from Philippe.

I am so looking forward to some widefield imaging in the coming months with this and my new AZ GTi, WO wedge and ASIAIR.

Got the William Optics Dec adaptor with vixen saddle for the iOptron sky guider Pro, not a huge upgrade but oh my days its so much easier to use than the one that comes with it and is way more precise, I would definitely recommend the upgrade to anyone. Also got the saddle as well because I'm eyeing up a guide scope (finally).

I've been looking at this the past couple days and getting it for £158 is a bargain, I'm the same in going to FLO but that's a pretty big saving.

This little beauty arrived today courtesy of Johnhandleby, aka @johninderby 😉

Most bizarre thing was that I had literally just started searching for one when John’s ad popped up, he must have been telepathic.

Very nicely packed and in great condition, looking forward to giving this a go soon. I’ve had one before but had to sell it, hopefully can hang on to this one.

I did check with RotherValley about the 2.0mm after @Highburymark suggested they may have stock but they don’t. Will perhaps keep an eye out for a 2.4mm used. The 3.4 will give x217 in the Tak and x265 in the Vixen. Should be fun.

If you want more power TOE 2.5 mm will give you an excellent EP. Some nights I can tease out a little more using a HR 2.4 mm on a tracking mount, 2.0 mm might be a little further then you would want to go unless looking at the moon.

You're gonna start to need more eyes than the four you already have considering all these scopes and eyepieces stu:laugh2:

Very true Victor! I’m trying to sell a few, honestly I am but they seem to be multiplying at the moment when I’m not watching! 🤪

When I was scrolling and just about to see this picture , the eyepiece cap and black anodised body resembled a 8mm Ethos  🤣

Sry , Jeremy I hope you will not take it seriously 😂.

A Tak CQ 1.7 extender to turn my FC-76DCU into an FC-76Q. Very much looking forward to trying this combination! IMG_20210717_190831__01.thumb.jpg.b6db824238f788721cfac382467cf09e.jpg

I'm surprised no one commented on that one.

Do they really have a logo with a $ eq mount? Well, certainly top notch equipment justifying the price, but hey, Takahashi, you don't have to rub it in...🤣

Superb Stu. Perfect eyepiece for the DC and many other scopes too, and probably as good as you can get. I’ve just ordered the 2.5mm TOE as I love the 3.3mm so much. Don’t look quite as cool as the HRs though.
Sorry RVO didn’t have the 2mm as the website indicated.
