Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it. I must say it is particularly bad planning on your part.   I am sure that SWMBO said "Its been on the calendar for ages". I get that as well. But why would I look at the calendar? I never put anything on it!!

We will just have to make the best of it in November

Hi Ian,

I think that regular attendees would fail to show, especially for feeble reasons, should do the decent thing and send a bottle of whiskey so that we can celebrate their absence in style.

All the Best

Plan to be there this time. IT issues should be solved by then. Amazon are collecting their incompatible "industrial" usb hub tomorrow.

If I cannot find a new one by Feb then I will stick with the mains driven netgear hub.

Ooooh, you better bring a good supply of whiskey then.[emoji12] it would be good to see you there Shane.

I am having to do a bit of negotiation around attending as its my son's birthday party that weekend, fingers crossed and all that.

Details have now been released for the 15th annual "Starfest" starcamp organised by Scarborough & Ryedale Astronomical Society. The 3 day event takes place in Adderstone Field, Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire between Friday 14th and Sunday 16th August. Astronomers from across the UK attend this event to take advantage of the dark skies in the North York Moors National Park and the forest has recently been awarded "Milky Way class" of the Dark Sky Discovery status.

For those who have not attended Dalby previously, please note the facilities are basic! Its all about the quality of the skies.

Guest speakers for the weekend will be announced in due course as they are confirmed.
More information and a booking form can be downloaded from the Scarborough & Ryedale AS website (http://www.scarborough-ryedale-as.org.uk/saras/starfest/starfest-2015/).

The society can also be found on Facebook and Twitter.  To avoid confusion with other events using the name Starfest, we have opted for an offical hashtag for this years event of #DalbyStarfest15.
