Beautiful and pristine pair of waterproof wide angle 7x50 Vixen 7x50 binoculars with 7.3 degree field. They look unused!

Dating from (I think) the 1990's, these have the JB-2 mark next to the prism casing, denoting that they were made by Komatsu of Japan, a very prestigious and highly regarded maker who also built for the likes of Nikon and others.

These were superbly packaged (as always) by @Franklin - many thanks Tim!!

Complete with all Vixen original caps, these also come with IF (Independent Focusing), so great for Astro.

Quite hefty and Tim very kindly included a tripod adapter which will allow me to use them on my Amazon Trigger Grip mount.

Can't wait to try these out!👍

Dave. They look the business for sure. Please give an update once you’ve had chance to give them a go.
How many binoculars does that make 👍👍

Looks like you have space for these in your armoury Dave. Nicely accessorised

DPD with deliveries today. This time it was a Baader clicklock M63 for my Starfield to replace the existing Axil lock.

I have had this upgrade on my radar to do for ages as I find the existing twist lock a bit of a pain, but I usually leave the Baader BBHS in my scope so it's not been urgent.

That said @Mr Spock and you posting your upgrades has 'upgraded' my urgency somewhat!

DPD gave me some worries this morning.

Was expecting, and looking forward to, a delivery on Monday. To my surprise they turned up today and the missus took the delivery in.

When I saw the box I thought that's a bit small for the 2 items ordered. I picked it up and it was quite a weight, so checked the label and it had Box 2 of 2 on it!!

Thinking the driver probably had the other box I tried to contact DPD to confirm this and see if he could deliver it today if it was on his van. Telephone support was useless, diverted to local depot number and told they were closed. So I tried the chat option - was about 49th in the queue but it dropped down quite quick. It turns out there are 2 boxes but each had a different delivery reference, so one was delivered today and the other is due Monday.

Oh, the content:

  • Box 2 today had a ZWO AM5 mount snugly inside.
  • Box 1 due Monday is the carbon fibre tripod for it.

Before I had the full details I was thinking that at least it was 'lucky' that the missing box was the leeast expensiver one to go awol.

I'll add pics when it's on the tripod and fully scope laden.

Looking forward to your views on the AM5, It's on my short list 🙂

Got tired of kneeling down in the mud and cricking my neck trying to polar align, so bought a right-angle polarscope adapter from FLO. Also bought an illuminator -- though I'm not too happy with the off switch on that! I see that FLO now dabble in witchcraft as they affixed a sticker to the package that guaranteed a week of 100% cloud cover! :(

I received this ZWO EFW 5x2” from @mandrews today.

Item arrived in exactly the condition it was described, boxed as new with all the parts that should be there.

Martyn is selling some other items, and although he has a very low post count, he is honest and trustworthy, and my experience has been excellent with good communication and updates.  I’d certainly buy from him again if he was selling other items that I needed.

Cheers!

(Oh, and the 12v Supply I forgot to order with it, doh!)

The ‘long-awaited’ and ‘much-hyped’ SVBONY 3-8mm SV215 zoom eyepiece. 🤪

I’ll look forward to the review - looks interesting. The 7-21mm is excellent value with good performance so high hopes here!

After 3 months in transit via various family members and across a couple of borders I finally received these: an OO cell for a 300mm mirror to go into my Helmerichs tube replacing my old SW 300p cell; and a 50mm elliptical flat to replace the 63mm one in my 200mm newt, taking its CO from 32% to 25%.

Lots of tinkering to come…

Magnus

Hello. A Takahashi MEF focuser from FLO for my FS 128.
Rather heavy piece of kit considering it’s size. I’m impressed!!
Quickly fitted in just 15 mins and running nicely. My Japanese is a bit lacking so just look at the pictures on the fitting instructions !!

Delievry very late last night, purchased from Telescope House in the Black Friday discount deal,
I could not resist a discount over discounted returns.

Wanted one for ages and came to the conclusion, its now or never, so clicked the buy button 👍

Double boxed and well protected.
