I had to pop out for a couple of hours around lunch-time, and inevitably a parcel was delivered while I was out. On my return I found this behind my front door.   I've no idea how this

I'm back after being away since last year. I had a tumour removed from my Pituitary Gland at the Neurosurgery Hospital in London, it was pushing on my Optic Nerve making my vision blurred. A

Forgive the poor photo please, doesn't do the scope justice. I am ashamed at my poor photography indeed, especially as I have a proper camera now, even if it doesn't often get used... 

This scope could well replace three others, now all I have to do is break it to some other scopes that their days are numbered. :sad: Well, when I say three, maybe just two. Certainly one. ( Anyone got the name of a good therapist? :icon_rolleyes: )

The book seems better that last year almanac, which was Henbest and Cooper. I will have a proper look afterwards. It's been a good day today for deliveries, just waiting on one more a bottle of Sheep Dip! :grin:

I loved Steinicke's book on the origins of the NGC (but it may be too dry for some ), so getting the detail on Herschel was an easy decision, although not bed time reading., due to the weight.

Not quite the 'Postman', but a mate - dropped these three boxes of Victorian Magic Lantern astronomy slides off that he doesn't want. Dating from around 1860-1920. A mix of hand painted and photographic images.

Sure there will be some duplicates and the like, but plenty to get stuck into over the coming months. Not as 'glamorous' as previous (mahogany mounted) ones that I have posted about before, but a varied set with some historical astro equipment to enjoy.

Book deliveries, scope deliveries (major shareholder in Takahashi), eyepiece deliveries, observing sessions, imaging sessions..Jeremy can handle them all!👍🙃

Merry Christmas everybody! I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas (if you celebrate it) and New year. Hoping for clear skies for everyone 😊

Yesterday was the last astro delivery of the year for me I think - block of foam padding to make custom inserts for my Skytee-2 bag:
