I'm a very lucky boy today. I managed to source a prestine 2nd hand 2" William Optics diagonal. Thanks to all that helped me decide on a 2"

Oh and my bongos arrived to!

And another surprise, A clear sky for all hopefully, what a beautiful day!

👍

Bongos, eh?😊. Word will soon get around on the SGL Jungle drums!🥁😋😁.

I'm also trying to figure out if the bongos are Tiny, or if the diagonal is Mahoosive!!:glasses12::help:

The Star Adventurer 2i I've had backordered since January appeared today, wasn't expecting it to be honest (especially as the shop aren't that communicative), so no playing to be done tonight.  At least the forecast doesn't say cloud for tomorrow, but that'll change...

"show us your bongos" thread incoming 😁

They are 6" and 7" in diameter. That might help put the diagonal into perspective, it's a big old lump compared to the standard 1.25" supplied that's for sure. I've just fitted it, can't wait to try it shortly 👍

Would that be exclusive to bongs, or also include the likes of a Bohran?

This nice cap arrived in the post today. There’s no doubt it’s a very nice cap, and I paid 12 whole pounds for it, but I was under the distinct impression that it generally came with a free 4” Televue refractor. Imagine my disappointment...

Contact TV or the seller and inform that you received your cap but the frac hasn't arrived yet 🙂

Oooooh, I didn't know you could buy these on their own, it's a really nice cap. My wife and I had to fight over the cap that came free with our scope. I wanted to wear it yesterday but I think my wife won the cap fight, if memory serves. Yours came is very posh wicker packaging for £12.

The postman brought a nice Celestron 32mm Plossl, bought from fellow SGL member @F15Rules. The postman also brought my OIII filter from FLO. Weather is looking promising tonight except the bright moon!

DHL delivered a long package today containing goodies to use with a new telescope that arrived at the weekend...

First Horizon Tripod is so much sturdier than the aluminium AZ mount that came with the Skywatcher 90 /910 refractor and significantly more versatile. I was a bit worried despite the reassurance from Auntie FLO that a 'standard' photo tripod would suit the 90/500 I now have, but it sits like a dream and is easy to adjust.

Of course, it is cloudy outside and no clear skies forecast for the next week, but I am so looking forward to giving my new rig first light!

If you are all unlucky, I will also post comments on the new refractor as well...

A Synta 8-24 zoom for my smartphone setup. Same as the Celestron branded zoom but just cheaper. 🙂

Wanted a zoom with a t thread on the top to use with my TS smartphone holder. The TS holder is really solid as it’s basically an ali plate with an adaptor at one end to attach to the t thread on the eyepiece. Zero flexing. Dead easy to set up the phone as well. 👍🏻

A cute little baby sister for the FC-76DCU has just arrived... at first I thought they’d delivered something else, as the package is so small (compared to my 76) 🤣

For super wide field, some astrophotography and to pack for holidays (where I want more than binoculars)... a Takahashi FS-60CB 😃
