  1. I have the Baader 2.25 barlow, Naturally it attaches perfectly to the morpheus ep range. I currently have it up for sale as I have used it once. No issues with the performance, I am just happy with the magnification my ep range provides and have never needed to use the barlow.
  2. Thats good to hear. How did you find the EP? Did you enjoy the views!
  3. Great collecton including a cheeky Pentax chucked in for good measure. A great idea regarding the second hand market, I am keeping my eyes open for the elusive 12.5mm - trouble is the morphs are so good they dont come up to often.
  4. Talking morph or not, You are more than welcome here @JeremyS ha!
  5. Very true, I own a 300p flex - lovely scope, But heavy, I have had lower back problems for the last year which has prevented me from bringing the scope out. I sometimes wish i had kept the 200p as it was light and compact enought to lift complete with base attached. In the ideal world I need the 300p set up perminent in a dome, Under very dark skies, Oh and in rural Devon!! 🙂
  6. The 12.5mm fast becoming your favorite ep, That is high praise considering the amount of eps you have tested!
  7. Afternoon all, I have recently purchased the attached coma corrector and 43mm extension ring for my 300p I just wanted to clarify the current set up. I have a Baader 2" click lock inserted in to the CC, This in turn is attached to the focuser. Is there a correct spacing i need to achieve with this setup? I can move the CC in and out of the focuser but i am unsure of its optimal position. Also Does CC change the focal lengh of my scope? Any help on the best way to utilise the CC appreciated. Regards Baz
  8. I have the 14mm and enjoy the low power x107 magnification it provides in my 12" dob - the magnification difference for the 12.5mm would be x13 - I am not to interested in the slight magnification gain. I am quite intersted to know how it performs visually compared to the 14mm - Not to knock the 14mm as I enjoy using it, But many state that the 14mm is the weakest in the range.
  9. A question for the technical chaps on here, I have just been looking at the full range. Considering pulling the trigger on the 12.5mm! One thing that struck me was how they all step down in size, Roughly in equal increments, With exception of the 12.5mm - what would make the 12.5 differ from the rest of the line up? Also looking at the pictures, I assume the bottom half of the whole range below the rubber grip is exactly the same components, And the focal length differences are made up in the longer/shorter top barrels? Just an observation that interested me 🙂
  10. Interesting information regarding the M43 extension, I have not considered trying two of them. I sometimes have difficulty with eye placement on the 6.5mm - I might take an extension off of one of my other morphs and double up on the 6.5 to see if helps. It only appears to be the 6.5 that I am having a few issues with. Nice collection of EPs you have there, I had the 30mm UFF APM - I enjoyed using it but sold it as I woudl have preferred the 24mm that you have, I have kept my eyes open for one but no luck so far!
  11. I must admit, I am also content with the Morpheus range, I no longer feel the need to chage to something different. I will at some point add the final 12.5mm to my collection!
  12. I did have the 6.5 out for a short period last night. It provides me with a magnification of x230 in my 300p - A nice mid range power, It gave some great views of Vega & Arcturus, I did find it to be a little blurry which I put down to my scope needing a collimation. The ep itself is certainly a great performer. The morphs certainly have a huge viewing "window" and are extremely comfortable to use.
  13. Hi all, I hope everyone are keeping well. I managed a bit of time at the ep last night. A bounce around the usual prominent stars this time of year. Im still a big fan of the subtle glow of Arcturus & the bright White/Blue glow of Vega! While looking at Cassiopeia with the naked eye I was fortuanate to have a white meteor flash across the sky and burn up. Only the third time I have seen this. Was it a meteor or "man made space junk"? 🙂 Enjoyed an hour at the ep - Collimation could do with some attention, But thats a headache for another day. Cheers Baz
  14. Hi all, I am here digging this thread back up to adivse, After considerable use, I still dont know which is my favorite the 9mm or 17.5mm - They are both amazing eps and IMO the best performers of the range. Cheers
  15. I quite like that solution. I two find the 4.5 a little fussy for eye placement. I tend to put up with it as it doesnt get a whole lot of use in my 12" dob. I am intending to use it for Uranus & Neptune viewing in the coming weeks and will bear the hair band trcik in mind. Baz
  16. Morning, As I understand it, Quite a few on here use a pair of 17.5mm Morphs for bino viewing. Hopefully someone can confirm back on the viewing experience.
  17. Thanks Alan, Good to be back on here again. Its been to long. Hopefully i will get out more regular again going forward. Hearing good things about the 12.5 alround, I can see me caving in and purchasing! Cheers Baz
  18. How do you find them compared to your other Green & Black ep's
  19. Hi Stu, Do you still haev the 12.5mm Morph in your collection? Cheers
  20. Thanks Stu, Life has certainly been very hectic. Getting under the stars and slowing and unwinding for a couple of hours was just what the doctor ordered and a reminder of how great this hobby is. If all goes well I will be out again this weekend! Hope you are all good mate. Regards Baz
  21. Wonderful! I must admit, Having them all but the 12.5 is constanlty on my mind. I dont need it, But want it 🙂 Baz
  22. Hi all I hope you are all keeping well. It has been a while since I managed to get out under the stars. We have recently had the LED street light conversion (finally) and I was keen to see if the slightly darker sky had an impact on the viewing. Truthly the jury is still out, I did notice the detail in Jupiter seemed better than I can remember. The ring Nebular also appeared brighter. Andromeda was its usual white fuzz. I moved on to a tour of the open clusters around Cassiopeia - As usual they didnt dissapoint, The Double cluster is a thing of beauty. All in all it was nice just to get out under the stars and have a general look about in all directions! Hopefully I will get more time out now the darker skies are returning. Cheers Baz
  23. 300p & Morpheus collection out last weekend for some much overdue observing time.
