Green with envy here Jeremy. Do tell all about it when the clouds eventually clear. Secretly I hope you don't like it then I can make you a insultory offer. :angry9:

Well Ive heard a lot of good things about Pseudo Masuyamas, so I thought why not try the real thing? 🤔

I’ve spent the morning toiling in the garden in the surprising warmth, levelling and compacting a corner of the garden in preparation for a incoming garden office pod. Got a bit of a sweat on so thought I’d go inside for a cup of tea, “pity I’ve got no treats to go with it” I say to my myself as I’m heading in.

Inside I find a package by the front door “ah this must be my 290m camera that @Kon has sent back to me”

So I put the kettle on and open the package…. Imagine my face when a big galaxy bar falls out! “Bl***y hell it’s a miracle” I blurt out. Currently going lovely with my nice cup o tea, although I’m somewhat distracted having to fend off the wife and kids who are circling like vultures around a carcass! 😂

Thank you Kostas, you really brought a smile to my face!!!

I am glad it did the trick! I hope you managed to have a piece from the 'vultures'..no chance in my house.

I really appreciate your generosity to send your camera over to a complete stranger that you have never met before. It enough to convince me to buy a mono as well.

It’s surprising the kindness and trust shown between folks in this hobby .

I too am thankful for the same over the years, been lent kit very kindly and trustingly, even from Europe mainland.

Road trip done from Essex to Derbyshire and back, great to meet Tim @Franklin at long last.

I am now the owner of a Vixen SD103 to replace the dropped ED103 Lazarus, who remains an ongoing rebuild project.

So very happy with the replacement.

Tims SD115 look rather fine and a future temptation, but a lot of Piggy Bank to fill to do that.

Also DPD and postie have been while out

More Blue rail and Baader clamp from @FLO

And an adaptor to fit my Rigel finder to a Vixen foot, from Scopestuff in the US

Been an enjoyable period of spending, but that’s it for a while now.

Nice to meet you to Alan, hope you enjoy your new Vixen SD103s, it's a good'n and make sure the clamps tightened up when you mount it😁.

Are you referring to Dave @F15Rules? I’m confused 🤔

Congrats on the new Vixen, Alan.

Hello, yesterday received my new 2 speed GSO focuser for my Celestron refractor 6", the foot  for the focuser is sold separately?
Oh well. Hope it will work, I don't feel comfortable drilling!

The "postman" left his red van at the depot today, and instead arrived in a Caterham Super 7 to deliver these for me (accompanied by a helper).

These are my first binos, so I'm looking forward to a new experience.
(The BBC thinks there may be some clear spells tonight, CO says no chance)

I don't use my binoviewer often, but when used on the right target (something bright with lots of detail) the view is always amazing, and the experience much more relaxed than observing with one eye. The Moon is a great target, but try them first in daylight to get the hang of merging the two images (which is much harder to do than it is with binoculars).

I'm not surprised you're confused Jeremy, so was I..because although I am in fact a Dinosaur, I'm certainly not a Triceratops as per Alan's dashboard pet...more of a Tyrannosaurus Rex (in my dreams!):help:

Lovely, Alan..I see it's the later SD model..I can't figure out what the difference is between your older ED103s and the SD?

Both fabulous looking scopes and great to see you back in possession of one of the best 4" refractors available, anywhere👍

Sideways logo, grey rather than blue trim on the dew shield and different baffling inside to illuminate a full frame DSLR. Oh and that particular SD103 hasn't been smashed up!😁

Not from the postman, but went to a nice gentleman near Stoke and bought his rather lovely Starwave 152mm from him. Lovely telescope, nice to look at, ( to me, )  but his dog stole the show, a lovely border Terrier/ Jack Russel cross, who thought I needed a face wash! I need to get me a new dog!

I tried to get a shot of the lens, beautiful and a slight green tint...

Now I intend to do as @Stu1smartcookie has done and apply it to my SkyTee along with my Starsense. Maybe a lighter mount too.

I tried to resist this, even started a thread asking for help to avoid, but seeing this on ABS in as good as new condition, I couldn't resist. It Hardly looks like it has been used.

I had the chance to play with one of those a while back, it was on a matching Sabre mount, beautiful looking set up and sweeping through the Milky Way in Cygnus was magical.
