Since arrival I've had day-and-night clouds, until today. Abundant sunshine today, but poor seeing, still, I had to throw it up on an alt-az mount to have a look.

Just had my new David Lukehurst EQ platform delivered this afternoon. Amazing quality of workmanship and materials, not to mention fantastically packaged. Quickly assembled the crescents as instructed and it’s working perfectly. Just need a clear night to fine tune the speed of travel. It’s been well worth the wait.

That's a real beauty! Makes mine look primitive!

The couriers delivered two packages this morning here in Hungary, one from the UK and one from South Korea and, impressively, both arrived in under a week including clearing customs:

A nice collection of bits from FLO, a Cheshire collimator for my 6"CC, an 8 x 50 RACI finder, a Baader Sky Surfer for my 6"CC, a Vixen dovetail bar also for the CC and an Explore Scientific 2 x focal extender in place of my inexpensive Barlow (it weighs a heck of a lot more so I'm hoping for a commensurate improvement in it's visual acuity):

And from South Korea this beautifully made Alt-Az mount with extension pier and additional mounting plate, all courtesy of Noh's Mounts:

That the aperture fever cured...

Feel like I should apologise to @FLO since I basically stole it in the Spring sale.

Im not sure if we're supposed to be doing bean cans or ornaments for these pictures but hopefully I get some clear skies tonight and I can hop to some observing.

A Beelink SER6 Pro - this mini PC is actually my partner's new travel workstation, but the astro possibilities are tantalizing!

Also an Intenso 3TB external drive, required for those huge solar system .SER files.

I was only going to buy a vixen motor drive set but could not resist also buying this beautiful GP2 mount to go with my ED103.   DSC_0759.thumb.JPG.85deb8f6a006c548d53a81187b9ddfaa.JPG

That GP-2 a recent acquisition - new old stock? And, I'd like to have a mini-pier like that for mine. Still available in the UK?

7  kg for the GP/GP2.   There is also a GPDX/GPD/GPD2 that has 10 kg capacity.

Oddly enough, I was just looking at the Noh alt/az mounts and read some extremely positive reviews. They do look a treat and amazing payload capacity for their size. Not cheap, mind.

Via Hermes,

Of all the binoculars I have owned, I’ve never had roof prism binos and after seeing their ad I thought I would try them out, Gosky 10x42 for £34.99 delivered, not breaking the bank but they’re not bad you know!

Vixen SG 2.1x constellation binos arrived at my local Lawson konbini where we are staying in Tokyo. Had hoped to buy them in person from Starbase Tokyo astro shop but they sadly didn't have them in stock so ordered from Amazon JP instead.

Not postie but myself in person at PAS today. Tempted by being available and a small show discount.

Should sit well with my shorter XW and play nice wearing glasses.

Great eyepiece Alan. I love mine doing two different jobs in two different focal length scopes. I find it very “comfy” and easy to get behind.

Not exactly what the post man brought, but more like what I was "encouraged" to buy by some rather persuasive SGLers.  Effectively they bought for me while I paid! Never the less I'm very pleased.

Maxbright II

Then of my own free will I bought a 30mm Ultraflat and 2" mirror diagonal.

2023-03-1216_42_07.jpg.afbcc6e39498e86934094205b16105b5.jpg

Then i picked up some lovely free journals from The Society for the History of Astronomy.

IMG_20230311_180446.thumb.jpg.c797fee035910e485cf80ea0bde591ac.jpg

And finally a Webb Society beanie hat. (I am a member despite using only a 100mm refractor)!

2023-03-1118_56_24.thumb.jpg.604c0dad8e4afd1de794a588fc512258.jpg

It was a long journey, and costly, but getting some nice new toys and meeting a good number of  very nice SGLers, all in all it was a great Day.

Great stuff, Mike!

It was good to finally meet you and several other very fine chaps who frequent these forums😊.

I'm not sure that you needed much "encouragement" to buy the Maxbright IIs though..as I recall, you left our little huddle group to go and make a purchase..by the time we had tracked you to the Widescreen Centre stand, you were waving your "Drastic Plastic" and then turned to us brandishing a package containing a spanking new pair of Maxbright Binoviewers!😂

I am willing, though,  to concede that my taking my MBIIs to the show at the request of Steve @Saganite may have somewhat confirmed your already made decision to buy!😱😁.

I've had mine a few weeks now, but only used them properly twice so far..when I think of the amazing sketches that you have made over the years, using your trusty Revelation BVs, the mind boggles at what you might produce with the help of these beauties!👍

A few shots of my own pair..
