No postie involved, but I collected this lovely scope up during a clandestine meeting at Cobham Services tonight with @JTEC. I blame @Alan White and his thread for highlighting John’s sale 🤪. Very nice to catch up with John again. Even managed a quick first light tonight 👍

It was great to catch up, Stu!  I hope you enjoy the scope.  I think they’re such a sweet mix of simplicity, functionality and image quality that everybody should have one. So, I’m definitely keeping the other one 🙂

My Wanderer V3 Mini remote control telescope cover/flat panel arrived today from China, to grace the second hand TS 130 Photo Line Triplet APO that has now replaced my TS152 Individual achromat.  I ordered the V3 from eBay so my heart was in my mouth for a while.  However, it arrived by FedEx (for a price) in 10 days. Once the firmware was updated, it connected easily to the Wanderer Control Panel software and opens and closes according to the limits I have set.  The flat panel has a good range of illumination, adjustable by the user.   First impressions are that it is well made, with metal and carbon fibre parts, although now that I have mounted it and operated it I have a slight doubt about the longevity of service of the servo motor.  We shall see 🤞

I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!  My Chroma 3nm Sii arrived on Thursday so I’m very excited to try it. The 3nm Ha is a thing to behold. I’m glad I could get away with 36mm as the 2” are really dear.

Nice, that tripod looks very much like mine. Those bowl levelers are brilliant.

Alan

Hi Alan , I bought an inferior product that I had to adjust three screws , what a faff , but as you say , these are brilliant and really reasonable price wise .

Got this little light, which may help me find eyepieces on the table, rather than knock them off. It's meant to be a reading light, amber, red and mixed and clamps onto the top of a book. Here it is on the edge of a desk.

Not as bright as it seems in the picture and it is dimmable, as well as very directional.

Ok so the postman didnt deliver this, i made a 400 mile roadtrip for this Orion XX16G.  Included in the deal were the Explore Scientific eyepieces with a 2x barlow.  A new Orion Dynamo Pro power pack.  A laser collimator..... Yeah that needs tweeked.  It already has Bobs knobs installed on the secondary and it has the fan kit added for cooling.  It had a red dot finder which I told the owner he could keep if he wanted it as i will be ordering a proper finder scope for it next week.  I had one of these on order from Orion for the last couple of months, but delay after delay in logistics got old, so when this came up with all the extras.... I just couldnt pass it up.   It positively dwarfs my 10 inch dob.

They do look fantastic! I couldn't resist yesterday, despite the almost full Moon and all the cool nebulae located nearby, I thought it was a good way to see an extreme case. So I took out the Samyang 135mm to see how they behave at f/2 and close to the Moon.

Ha looks promising! OIII, well, being OIII, isn't as grandiose, but there's always something to be done. Let's see what PI has to say!
