What did the postman bring?

Almost forgot to include my little Japanese wide field binoculars. I bought this great pair of Tasco circa 1972 8x40. They are in great condition considering their age. The views are crystal clear and mostly aberration free. I needed these to complement my Pentax 20x60.

The older "Made in Japan" Tasco binoculars are excellent, my first ever pair were Tasco 7x35's back in the late 70's when I was a kid. I'll never forget how sharp they seemed or maybe it was my young eyes????

Sorry guys, that cloudy spell is on me ASI120MM-mini.

I used to have a touptek gpcam GP0130Mono but following the self destruction of my mount, after which I thought I had avoided any major damage, it turns out it actually did not survive and needed a replacement. Shoutout to @FLO for the great deal, superb com (Thanks Chris) and super fast delivery - also known as a normal  Tuesday for FLO.

How are you going to mount this to your Tal?

Should have mentioned it’s an adapter for the Tal 8x50 finder shoe so Tal-2, Tal-200k etc and my new Tal-150p. I’m trying it out with raci and starsense but the Tal finder is so nice i may switch back. This is going to revolutionise my city observing :)

They are still tack sharp with my old eyes! I was literally taken aback by just how clear and sharp they are.

Baader 1.7x GPC delivered today so i don't need to mess about with spacers in the dark unless i really want to use the native magnification/FOV of the binoviewer. It's definitely not 1.7x though. I can tell from another eyepiece it's more than 1.4x but can't really estimate with what's available to view in the daylight where between 1.4x and 1.7x it is - i think the received wisdom on the net at 1.5x is about right.

Don’t throw away any packaging. It’ll come in useful for fuel when the energy bills are delivered!
What a world we live in. Utter madness.

Second hand paperbacks will probably go up in price for fuel too.

i'm slightly relieved my IPD will prevent the temptation to double up on Delos so now to pick some 18mm ortho's i think...

Maybe Morpheus 17.5's would work? I used a pair successfully 👍.

But if you do decide on orthos, the Baader Classic Ortho 18mm's are also excellent condition 😊

Some ha Solar gear! Very exciting! 😊 Just waiting on a Bresser 102, 460fl to turn up so using my Z73 for now. Today was my first ever Ha Solar session, hopefully I've captured something half decent but it went fairly well once focused. I was going to go Lunt 50 and the 178m but a last minute decision change was made when I saw a Quark, 174m and the Bresser scope for sale so went for it, no regrets.

I should have bought a variable moon filter the first time around, but didn't.

This one caught my eye on the bay as it was £2.49, presumably a mistake. It's since been changed to £29.99, and I've been feeling smug all morning.
