Looks pretty similar!

SvB do the whole range, but without the twist-up eyeguards. The coatings look different to the Vixen, but I don't see any difference in use. I'd say they are both made by the same manufacturer.

My Tair 3 has astigmatism.  Testing with an artificial star has also been interesting.  Airy rings at F8 and F22, but nothing at faster ratios.  Going to attempt to fix that this evening (hopefully just the retaining ring is too tight).

Or I'm about to put an epic scratch on it.

Nice. How did you mount the 50ed to the rings? I have the 100ed and need to move the finder further up to make it easier to search deep sky objects.

Thanks 🙂. There are a couple configurations of the pre-drilled 80ED dovetail holes that line up with the 50ED dovetail holes. With that you can get a couple 1/4" UNC countersink bolts for the top of the 80ED tube rings, slide the 50ED dovetail over and lock it with wing nuts. It's not as elegant a solution as a proper ADM clamp but it works 😅

There's some good gear on AliExpress.  Often get some stuff that is hard to find elsewhere (I'm currently waiting on some M54 Extenders for my 130PDS) and some stuff that is just cheaper all round.  My biggest complaint is the prices are like a rollercoaster on some of the shops.  SVBONY, I'm looking at you.

New Canon for my solar imaging. Going to fit electric focus. Opticstar 127mm. Bigger than I thought it would be. Going to be for white light with the Hershel wedge. It's only an Achromatic but that's all one needs for imaging in Continuum.

My new Quechua rechargeable lantern from Decathlon. Red, white, bright white. Comes with a USB charging lead, but no mains charger. Also has a nice soft-start feature so your retinas don't suddenly get hit with full brightness when dark-adapted. The white is actually much brighter than the red, even on dim.

Top class optic Mark !

I have been building up a nice ragtag selection of them- so far I think my favourite with the 6" f5 is the tiny celestron 5mm but not sure if that's a 5 element or just standard plossl but it's great on the planets. I even have a "genuine masuyama"! Its a 20mm but the lens cement is a bit hazy as is common on the older ones. At some point I plan to rejuvenate it
