It’s those clouds in the way again, otherwise I would be out tonight enjoying the sky. I’ve mounted it on the Starfield and using a standard compression ring reducer until the clicklock arrives tomorrow.

Fingers crossed that it clears up! Sometimes I just use my Morpheus' in 2" mode and keep the reducer just on my Pentax 10mm so there are fewer things to swap out, but it does mean quite a large refocus is needed which can also maybe change the balance of the scope. Still, good to have options, really glad the Morphs have that 2" fitting. I have heard of some scenarios where people don't have enough infocus for 1.25" mode, but I only have that issue with my APM superzoom.

Wow! This is a sheer delight to look at - I hear they are the same to look through as well.

I am the other way around. I predominantly just use my Morpheus range for the majority of my observing. If I need less magnification then I also have the 24mm ES 68 degree. If less again then I have the 32 & 40mm plossl’s. If wide field is desired then the 2” EP’s come out only then.

Super excited!

I've just been messing about on pylon tops through the kitchen window (checking spacer arrangements) and i'm pretty sure I know already that i'm going to seriously get on with these!

Gives me 102x / 38' / 1.8 (1.3) pupil native and when the 1.7 GPC comes (it's on back order) will give me 150x ish and less than 1mm exit pupil so less overwhelming brightness on Jupiter while still at middling magnification hopefully.

Less than 24hr turnaround on an order from The Widescreen Center again. Happy days.

Sorry, going to add to the clouds (probably)...  Two 18mm Baader Classic Orthos just delivered fresh from FLO for the binoviewers... :)  Hopefully it will stay clear long enough tonight to try them out on some planetary and perhaps lunar (although it's getting rather late for that now...

Good timing- forecast is clear tonight and i’m itching to get first light with my “new”  Tal-150p. This will enable mounting it to my alt-az :)

Great, but if it clouds over we know who to blame! ;)

Enjoy the new scope! 👍🏻

As a child of the Apollo era, it had to be done

Very nice indeed!. Very jealous 😊.. ditto for me as born January 1969, and christened on moon landing day!!

That looks nice Jeremy. Will you be getting another for binoviewing?

Mark

Well 11mm FL length EP work well on planets in my Binoviewers. Unfortunately, I don’t think any more Apollos are available from the limited edition 😊

If you want a small, aluminium case as a grab and go EP and accessory holder, Asda sold me one for BBQ accessories for £13. Take out the spatulas, etc.

Then add the bits you need:

and you have a small lightweight case:

Wanted a sky atlas but saw this second hand for £15 and thought it would be rude not to.

Older edition, but hopefully the sky won't have changed too much.

Also picked up a decent wee sketching book and pencils.  It's nice thick paper so it won't tear at night when it's dewy
