What did the postman bring?

This arrived yesterday. As I am banned from the obsy while my knee operation recovers, I'll tinker around in the warmth of my living room getting it all working before installing outside.

I must say that Prima do environmentally friendly packaging, a minimum of plastic and the cardboard inserts all seems recycled. Hats Off!

A used William Optics EZ Touch alt-az mount and nice wooden tripod, bought from UKABS.  This is the first generation of this mount which was made by AOK in Switzerland (before they shifted production to Taiwan and started ripping off the AOK design apparently). It's really well made and seems lovely to use (playing with it in the garage at least).

Will use it to hold a 6" mak cass with a heritage 130p on the other side

Hello @CraigT82  I have the same tripod and have an enquiry.
Could you confirm how the WO EZ touch is attached to the tripod.
I’ve not been able to sort out a satisfactory solution. I can see an “adaptor ring” might be in use ??
Maybe you could confirm with a photo or two up close.

thanks in advance.  John

Here you go.... it's an m10 x 1.25 bolt which holds the mount head to tripod top  my AZ4 also fits the tripod nicely.

The flat top of the tripod has a protrusion screwed to it which the head sits on, this protrusion has a large diameter thread around it's circumference and a 'tabbed ring' screws over it but this doesnt seem to serve much purpose that I can tell.

Thanks for this Craig.  My tripod just has not got the adaptor. It’s just an opening and a bar is located underneath, presumably to attach a surveyors theodolite et al. ??
I would be looking for a “plate” of some description to cover the opening so I can securely bolt my AZ-GTI mount to the tripod.
Think it’s a 3/8th fitting.
I’ll post a picture or two later when home.
regards. John

The postman didn't bring it, I collected it. Having recently sold my Lukehurst dob due to it being too heavy and frankly, not being used. I am now the proud owner of an OOUK 10" F6.3 1/10th dob. It is so much lighter and will most definitely be used considerably more than the DL did. Hopefully first light will be SGLSP next weekend, fingers crossed.

Small (80mm) water cooling radiator for my ASC camera cooling system.

Already had an 80mm fan.  This shows the two side by side.  A normal 120mm radiator would have been overkill.

Snap! Got one for my SA set up ready for SGL19, and we know what happened to that.

DPD man was supposed to deliver M&S thermals for the same event, but nothing on the van, now got to find out where it is. Annoyed as I'd paid extra for a timed delivery.

Might buy another for my Borg 77 ED II😀
