gorann
Finally, after a long bright summer I am exposing again. Got the dual RASA8 rig up an running in Obsy 1 and aiming at the rather obscure nebula LBN534 in Andromeda. I spent much of the summer adding an extension with a pier to Obsy 2. Soon a dual Esprit 150 rig on the Mesu 200 I bought from @ollypenricewill move in there. Edited August 24, 2022 by gorann

Just wait, sooner or later they’ll let Hubble go for less. Edited August 25, 2022 by Sunshine
Geoff Barnes
Good lord it's been sooo long, I honestly can't remember the last time I had the old girl out. It's been a shockingly wet, gloomy winter here on the mountain, but at long last a first hint of spring in the air today. My only real aim tonight is to try and see the comet C/2017 K2 which will be just below Antares very handily. Visual magnitude 6.7 so in with a good chance. May as well have a go at splitting Antares while I'm in the vicinity, almost overhead so should be doable. Just getting dark now, can't wait to get out there again!
Saganite
I would love to split Antares, but it is barely above the rooftops here. It has not stopped me trying again this summer though, and tonight looks promising , so who knows. The AZ100 is nicely balanced, and both scopes are cooling. ScouseSpaceCadet
The sun is setting and tonight Saturn and Jupiter are the targets... Put out to cool are a Skywatcher Skymax 127, a 9x50 RACI finder, GSO 2.5X ED barlow and Opticstar PX35C planetary camera. Perched on a Celestron AVX goto eq mount. Cheap as chips imaging shenanigans with 'er indoors' laptop. 🤫 7

It shows clear until 4 am. Hope the sky is good for you also. Enjoy ! Edited August 27, 2022 by Saganite

I've just popped out accompanied by Astro Cat, removed the scope and counter weight then polar aligned. A five minute job. I'll nip out about 10.30pm, do a two star align and connect the laptop. Have fun. 😀 Edited August 27, 2022 by ScouseSpaceCadet

Dave scutt
A few new toys to use tonight. The fan works a dream but a bit noisy. A new 80mm finderscope and a baddar skyglow filter

iantaylor2uk
I'm trying out an 8" Newtonian on the RST-135 mount tonight (hopefully there will be some clear patches). I put a counterweight on but not sure this is needed. I also took a video showing how the mount handles the scope which is on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/H3B8Xes7zvoon

I hope the skies stay clear and the new Tak is collimated dead on out of the box! looking at your setup I can't help thinking it would be nice if it were possible to to relocate the finder closer to the top of the scope for more comfortable viewing, we know this isn't possible but I'm sure you'll get on well. I wondered the same. But it’s actually very conveniently positioned in practice. If it were on top, the eyepiece would be directly below and get in the way or be breathed upon. What is going to get some used to is the focuser position which is practically behind the eyepiece. Still ok to access, but not as intuitive as on a refractor. But is anything? 🤣 Edited September 2, 2022 by JeremyS
