Hi, 

I'm pleased to show another Vixen in action: A80M Japan. Unfortunately not at night, it's during observing the Sun. I've bought it from our fellow on SGL recently.

A tale of 2 Tals- new to me today a 100R next to almost as new 200k. Bit cloudy right now but hopefully it’ll clear soon so i can compare them

Not quite yet at night, and judging from the change in forecast, not to be at night at all! Eve of first night of astro-dark here.

Well, actually, yes! We might even be able to stretch to a room 😀! 1.5 hours drive W from Cork airport, car hire remarkably inexpensive. And that applies to mostly anyone on here as I’ve worked out that we on SGL are a friendly often nerdy bunch!

Its how these things go for me it seems like. Ill probably find a way to disagree with today's me 2 months from now...

Guess what happened once i got used to the Pentax XW10 and tried my other eyepieces? (hint is in my signature) 🤣

Wow, I know that sky! My friends lived in Thomastown, in a half way between Cork and Dublin. I was so hugely impressed how many stars I could see... ✨ ⭐ 😍

Now they moved elsewhere and didn't take the sky with them... 😒

Getting ready for first light with my new asi2600mc.. What's that you say? Pixel size, 300p 1500mm FL gives 0.5" per pixel.. madness? Pfft bring it on.. Laws of physics are just suggestions imho. 😛

p.s. 300PDS makes the asi2600mc look tiny.

At night! But not in action 😞 I had just built up everything to have a look at Jupiter, when it disappeared behind the clouds. The sky is now more and more covering up…

I was lucky in the end! Managed to see the boiling Jupiter for about 2mins! Now all packed up…

I got my mini PC remote control system working and I gave it a good test drive early this week.   I am officially spoiled now....operating my imaging setup 60 feet away while I sit in the air conditioned comfort of my caravan ( aka Moonlight Manor) with a cold BEvERage in hand.  I will really enjoy this when it gets cold.

ES 127EDT, AP900 mount, ASI-2600MCP camera.

Down here poking out into the North Atlantic we get some serious storms … the extent to which the doors/windows bow in and out can be alarming, but so far so good after 6 years.

Scope does take 30-odd minutes to cool, the difference has been quite noticeable from uncooled to cooled. But of course very nice once settled.
