Well we have had various "show us your kit" threads (quiet at the back  )

so how about the important view from the garden...........i feel a little smug with this one and i wonder if i might be in the top ten, so to start the ball rolling, here is mine..........not bad for an ex council house

Very nice Jules, really glad you finally got sorted. Is that south facing or would that just be too much to ask? :)

What's the NELM on a good night? You'll be getting into DSOs soon! :)

due south is to the left of the pano shot, so the direct view from the garden is bordering on south west, i am more than happy with it

dont know how to work out the NELM

funny you say about DSO, i found myself looking at TS 8" f4 carbon newt this morning

Sounds brilliant!!

Easiest to use Ursa Minor and see which is the dimmest star you can see.

This may help:

EDIT What are you like Jules ;), what happened to the 120ED plans?

This is my Stellarium background panorama that I did a couple of years back.  Unfortunately it's not where my obsy will be initially because it's a pain to run permanent power to at the moment.  I need a couple of very long extension leads as it is.

South is the edges of the image.

Nice views Jules. :) I'm pretty much spoilt for choice living in an old South facing farm house out in the sticks with only cows for neighbours. Thus from the front door East through South to West, from behind the house in the orchard South through West to North and over to East.

However I do like to take sky shots, so here are a couple. (sorry if these have been posted in separate Photography threads)

First, Dawn from the front door looking left/East.

Second Sunsets from the rear of the house in the orchard looking West.

I'm very lucky in that my views change with the seasons and time of day.

That's east, north , south and west. The oak tree to the south clips the bottom of the ecliptic. Otherwise it's good clear views. Very pleased that there's room in a big garden for my shed and a fenced enclosure and a wigwam for the tribe to sleep when visiting,

Nick.

No wonder you lot took up astronomy. I'd post a pic of mine but all you really need to do is just replace all the trees in your pics with St lamps and the fields with council houses and you got my back garden

Result on the house Jules !! I bet the original council tenants couldn't believe their luck when they were given that house.

Now, this may not paint me in a good light but; I took this post as a fun challenge to find out where you live just from the info you provided.

I may have fluked it, but it only took about 10 minutes.

This was done in fun and I probably got lucky, but it does make you think about security.

Wish I could take a picture today but can hardly see across the yard.

To be completely honest the one of the Pic du Midi was taken from down the road.  The otherspost-44094-0-53552900-1439050615_thumb.jpost-44094-0-31394200-1439050623_thumb.jpost-44094-0-31550200-1439050628_thumb.jpost-44094-0-81596300-1439050634_thumb.j south or just west of south from our yard.
