Now I will be very interested in what you think of that one Derek :icon_biggrin:

I went for the Delos 14 in the end but was, and still am, very tempted by an XW 14 to join my other XW's.

Will be sure to let you know, John. I have been very impressed with the others so far so when this came up I couldn't resist.

Just had a text from the other half that this has arrived. App the adapter was for an eq3 which should be the same as the eq5 which should fit the neq6....well fingers crossed anyway. But as it was a bargain I am not too worried.

I am "in the process" of buying a Skywatcher AZ5 GTi Wifi mount to give me GOTO capabilities for my Borg (and Night Vision) as its difficult to identify all the things I can now see by manual star chart means :(

My wife bought me the new Skywatcher 3/8 steel tripod and extension which has been with Fedex for the last 3 days!!!! (while I sat inside waiting for repeated NON-delivery!!)

There are not many pics of the new steel tripod with the extension fitted, so here are some...

3.jpg.9272e1c136c175f51f9c53031d4de510.jpg

The tripod itself is nice and solid, it's very lightweight indeed. The extension tube makes a nice tight fit so should secure the mount head solidly...

Needless to say, the AZ5 GTi mount went "out of stock" after I ordered it and I now have to wait another month for something to fit onto the above :(

Alan that is a great addition to the AZ5 and the AZ GTi mount. The original tripod was too light so this is a welcome addition to the range. With this new tripod the weight allowance (on the standard AZ5 increases to 9 kgs) which makes it a great grab and go.

I look forward to your review of the AZ GTi when you get it.

I recently bought an AZ5 tripod and mount (B&W with a splash of lime green). It has the extension tube etc. It is extremely well build and solid as a rock. The tripod is pretty light to carry on its own (as is the mount).

Nothing delivered today, but i know whats on its way. Will be here on Wednesday:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adjustable-Trigger-Ravelli-APGL4-Professional/dp/B003SQEAY0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1532183620&sr=8-1&keywords=Ravelli+trigger+grip

Having recently given my Celestron 70mm Travelscope and Horizon 8115 tripod to the kid across the road, i was in the market for a new tripod which i could use with my 20x90 bins (and anything else i own that will fit on it). I saw this posted on the thread "Show Us Your Bins", and thought it was a great price for the whole setup.

Ive long lusted after a trigger grip (particularly for binocular astronomy), but never had a reason to buy one until now.

65 euros.............cant go wrong, worth the punt.

Correct! But it is the Altair-branded version

There is a lovely dent in the bottom half of the tube which doesn't encroach on the light path and attracted a suitable discount. Very nice CNC dual-speed focuser and sturdy rings which are now attached to a 15" ADM Losmandy plate and the handle that you can see in the picture.

Very pleased

I could not live with a dent like that (even with a discount). Im a bit OCD about things like that. Id send it back. Love the observing chair. It looks very comfortable.
