What did the postman bring?

My baby was finally delivered!

Between time saving the funds and the two months waiting while it was back ordered, I feel like an elephant father. Close to 2 years!

And the images you see of one doesn't do it justice!

It really is a beast.

I'm sorry for bringing the rain that's forecast for the rest of the week.

Fine focus adjust for my Bresser AR102L and a Pentax XW 7mm, again for the gas giants and those tight doubles... 😃

It’s all I’ve been using for the last few weeks, really love this EP, hope you enjoy too.

Last bit of spend for the season…

Telegizmo cover for leaving in the shed after an evening and finally got the 1:10 micro focuser unit. Really will be so much better in micro adjusting focus on the planets. Had a few niggles installing like most people seem to but a good search on here helped. Bring on the clear evenings.

Just remember to fit the extra grub screw when you fit the fine focus knob.

Yup, that was the bit I’d missed John and wondered why the micro knob wasn’t doing anything. I found your post you linked thanks  😊

I blame the Bresser instructions for fitting the knob. They really are rubbish with rubbish photos that mean many miss the grub screw fitting bit.

Can’t believe they miss that vital point.

@johninderbynoticing that the tube isn’t as smooth as it was earlier. Is a little grease recommended or is that a no no?

Since you installed the fine focus? Try (re)tightening the hex screws that hold the fine focuser to the shaft. Mine keep undoing slightly and then there's a bit of play that results in a loose-tight-loose sort of feel.

Arrived today..

Vixen LV 8-24mm Zoom, in almost new condition. Gets great reviews and is the same as the one that Tele Vue own- branded some years ago.

Feels quite lighweight but nicely made, with continuous zoom (no clickstop), and has NO undercut on the barrel!👍🤩

Has 40-60mm degree range with 60deg at 8mm setting.

Shown here with my 5, 10 & 20mm LVs, all made in Japan.

I look forward to comparing the Vixen zoom with my Carton Japan 7-21mm, which has similar fov but feels significantly heavier.

Dave

I had a Vixen LV zoom for a while Dave. Excellent eyepiece.

Thanks Tim.

I really like the form factor and simplicity of the LV range.

Just wish the weather would play ball so I could get them all out together for a proper session!
