Nice set Paul, sometimes wonder if I should slim down, some of mine have not been used for 8 months. I once remember a mate that was driven by fashion once said to me,"Alan if you have not worn it fo 18 months in the bin with it" and he did, I feel the range can breave a sigh of relieve for a while. Some of his gear was a price too, the only Dustmen wearing Armani.

Nice collection Paul   that 18mm BCO looks like a midget there

Why do I have a feeling that a new case is needed?

Ok, I have a confession to make. With all the extra little bits and pieces, these go in two cases. That way I have a bit of spare space in the event of an accidental eye piece purchase.

I slimmed down recently and have not regretted it. I am not using them as much and so I made the decision. (For thise who dont know what I had it was 2 pentax xw and 6 delos instead of the 3 vixens at 12,15,18 and barlow)

The only thing I missed was a wider field EP at the 18mm mark and thats why I got the andromeda for occasions when looking at larger dso's. All the others are superb and give fantastic views.

This also released about £1000 or so in cash.

Wife got her cruise afterall

Two new eyepieces just arrived, and I cannot hold myself any longer.

Here is my humble little case (still awaiting 24 Pan).

M4sh,

Continue to watch this space and we will soon have talked you into adding to the Black and Green family. Two really good eyepieces I use the 12mm a good deal on the LX 12 inch when the seeing lets me, it is great on Saturn giving just about the max-power on this planet from the 3 meters of focal length, it's a bit low this time round though even for me which will limit what you can use on it.

Nice collection growing there I can see.

Alan.

My girlfriend was horrified when I told her how much it costs. As a result I am banned from buying any more telescope accessories.

Just ask her how many shoes and clothes she has then ban her from buying more ;)

With all due respect, telling her was a beginners mistake [emoji6][emoji6][emoji14]

Be more careful in future [emoji106]

When telling the wife / girlfriend the price of things apply the correct currency conversion.

I use  the standard astro price conversion of £ to WifePounds.

Currently this is about 1 : 0.65  but goes up and down depending on her mood.

I will be smarter next time.
If there is a next time.
I am still getting my 24 Panoptic. And with that I should be pretty much fixed for a long time

That's funny, and very true! My exchange rate is a little worse than yours, currently 0.5!

To be fair I also maintain this when selling kit too so I don't earn extra [emoji3]

I have been to your country dozens of times I know how good looking your ladies are, just tell her all will be forgiven. I remember a telescope dealer last time I was in Prague, I don't know if it is still there. In fact the first time I saw a large refractor was in Taplice not far from the capital, a shop with 6 inch Bressers in it, I almost took one back, but that was what really whet my hunger for astronomy all over again, they were massive to me, there's something about refractors.

There are few good telescope dealers here in Czech republic.

However I bought the Delos(2x) online from http://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/index.php/language/en

1. It was cheaper

2. It was faster

3. It had all the accessories I wanted, which are hard to come by in CZ shops (dioptrix(+ adapter for Pan 24), lacerta 1:10 microfocuser kit)

I ordered it on Monday, on Tuesday it was shipped, and it arrived on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, the exchange rates are not what they used to be (dollar is expensive and our national bank has been keeping the Czech crown exchange rate above 27CZK/Euro for almost two years now :( )

So it was really quite expensive, but what can I do.

For example:
The used 24 Panoptic I plan to buy will cost me  around 7000CZK which is around 250 Euros
If I were to buy it 2 years ago it would be 5500CZK, which is almost 60 Euros less.
It's an expensive hobby.

BTW: Does anybody knows if all the 24 Pans are the same, no matter how old, or are there any different versions?

As far as I know Tele Vue have not changed the specification for the 24mm Panoptic at all since it came into production. It was one of the first Tele Vue eyepieces I owned, quite a few years back, and I remember it very fondly

M4sh,

I have much the same problem as yourself though I am lucky in the fact I do have an account in the UK, I am staggered by the amount they have increased the price of Televue eyepieces at say Teleskop Services, it is only a short while back that a Delos was 295 Euros, which is not exactly give away, now the same thing is 378 Euros, no one will convince me that is only Dollar strength. I think your best bet is to look out for secondhand sales within Europe where you can maybe use Euros more easy, there are some stunning items that do come up.
