My new case which arrived today. I need to get some more eyepieces to fill that space

Nothing in the world of astronomy is more dangerous than a gap in an eyepiece case!

I have already decided I need a 7mm and a 32mm, it's just picking the right ones and the right moment to justify spending the money to my family!

Having filled my Ethos case I have now had to remove a non-Ethos that was hiding in there.

So is it ever acceptable to have an eyepiece case containing just a single eyepiece?

🤔

I guess it is a close relative.

But I need to think about this a bit more 🤔

When you've spent all your money on the telescope itself and then have to steal a lunchbox from the pantry and cannibalise the polystyrene packaging from the scope box.

nothing wrong with a lunch box for an EP case - i linked one above as a joke but now i've seen them i'm tempted myself for a small GnG kit!

Being a commemorative limited edition eyepiece I think it deserves to be kept in its special presentation box!

Yeah I had the same idea! 😆 I put it up here for a bit of a laugh in stark contrast to all the top quality high end/high craftsmanship examples. Really though, I suppose as long as it gets the job done it doesn't matter at all.

Mine are not as neat as @Mr Spock and @bosun21's cases but they have been with me for a while and have seen quite a lot of "coming and going" over the years 🙄

Not so much change lately though although I have managed to whittle things down to 2 cases. I won't say that I'm done though - that's asking for trouble plus a certain amount of disbelief from long standing members on here 😉

Some lovely pieces of glass in those cases. I’m too frightened to try an Ethos incase I fall under their spell.

Thanks. I collected most of the Ethos before there were other really good alternatives. If I was looking for 100 degree eyepieces today I would be looking carefully at the APM XWA's which are very, very close to the Ethos in performance.

I've got a 6mm SLV to fit in mine somewhere

It will earn it's keep I'm sure. I found it excellent when I tried one and compared it with the Baader Genuine Ortho 6mm.
