What did the postman bring?

A mystery JWST hat! I’m a little puzzled as I did not order this or know of its existence. Maybe I have a secret astro admirer? certainly not my wife or so she claims but I believe her. oh well, I’ll do a little more research and be happy as it is a nice hat.

UPDATE: it was mom! Lol a few phone calls revealed the truth, I do have an astro admirer!

The mail lady asked what was in the bag because everything was trying to stick to it.  I said it was 4 half pound magnets to help balance a telescope.  I have never seen such a puzzled look in my life

Hopefully there weren't any compasses or CRT TV's in amongst the other deliveries in the van or some other customers might be a bit disappointed in their new purchase 😉

Yeah that would cause some issues wouldn't it.  Fortunately the US Mail doesn't really do big packages like a CRT TV, that's more of a UPS kind of thing.  Now a compass.....that would be a possibility

Postie knocked with a parcel containing:

ZWO ASI585MC USB3.0 Colour CMOS Camera

ZWO EAF - Electronic Automatic Focusmotor (5v version)

So sorry for any excess clouds. Should be some clear nights while I work out how to fit the EAF to my Evolux 62 as I can't find anyone who has fitted one to that new'ish scope.

Bit of an anticlimax after the Maxbright II's above but I thought I'd be all nostalgic and try a bit of solar projection. I made something like this from garden canes and stiff card as a kid. This bit of kit from Vixen looks like it may work a tad better. Bought from an auction site for considerably less than retail I might add. Got it rigged up on the SD103s waiting for the rain clouds to go away!

I wouldn't say that, that looks like a quality bit of kit you've got there. 👍 Something else to add to my list of future purchases.

Wow nice!! Where did you receive it from?

FLO, but it's still showing as out of stock so there must be more on back order than arrived in the shipment.

My 2" replacement GSO diagonal has had issues with the thumbscrew *again* 🙄 so I've given up and got the Baader BBHS Clicklock instead (and 1.25" adapter) whilst I can still afford it!

Nice. Any chance of a quick user report on this. Curious about click lock as I improve my eyepieces the load gets heavier and I have noticed some drift in thumb screw lock. Wonder if click lock would address this.

Yes, will do - when I'm out next I'll make sure to take some notes and report back.

Many might be wondering why have I got this when I haven't even got a Reflector.

Well I am seriously thinking of buying a Celestron Starsense Dob 10" maybe a 12" if they release them soon.

Thanks to @JemC (James) I could not let this go for the price.

Well, I finally received my Morpheus 6.5mm, so here it is along with its stable mates:

Probably won't get any more as I'm already sorted for other Morph f/ls. Now all I need is a clear sky....🙄

What's the one in the middle?  A 9?  Hope you get clear skies soon, I am still waiting for one of those to shake out my 14 LP

Very nice 👍. Please let me know how you find it, as I’m contemplating buying one for myself.

PS: I’ve just seen I’m not the first to ask for a report. lol.

Great! my 9mm morpheus is my workhorse eyepiece in both scopes, they’re just great EP’s.

Yes, Mike, sorry I didn't turn it round far enough. It's a 9mm.

Postie has been and delivered another purchase c/o @Franklin, clearly Vixen of course.

LV Zoom for solar observation, means all solar kit sits in one box in 'The Khazi', ready to use, just wander out with a scope and a key.

Has the Magic words Vixen and Japan.

Nice, Alan. I love all things Vixen! Do you know the FOV? That's the only problem with a lot of their EPs.

40-60 with8-24 range, but all I want it for is Solar in WL and in the future in Ha.

Vixen did make wider FOV eyepieces.

Agreed, 👍, also the 17.5mm stands out for me. It took Baader several years of R&D after all the other sizes were released. They didn’t rush the development and that shows in the end product.
