Think I saw those on ABS and was mighty tempted myself but resisted.

I’m in the early days of binoviewing so I’m not quite sure which eyepieces to get to go with my WO 20mm & Celestron 26mm 🤔

Let us know how you get on with those BCO’s, the 2.25x Barlow is brilliant, I use it all the time with my BV’s & my zoom eyepiece!

Had a quick Luna session last night as it was rising with my TS80 photoline & WO binoviewer & 1.6 gpc. Got to say 1st impressions are good. Comfortable to use ( 18mm especially) & really sharp views. Good contrast & pretty dark background considering it was a 97% illuminated moon without filters. Hopefully a winner, time will tell.

I have one of each of the 10mm & 18mm BCO’s and wasn’t sure if they made a good BV pairing, but from what you are saying the 18 is especially good so might keep an eye out for another second hand one.
If you haven’t done so already try screwing the lens element of your 2.25x Barlow into the nose piece of your WO BV’s you will be surprised at the bump in magnification! Worked brilliantly for me on Mars & the Moon.

Iain,

I also have a pair of Baader Classic Ortho 18mms and they do work really well as a binoviewer pair. Sharpness and contrast are excellent, the 50 degree field is very acceptable (to me, anyway!), and as you say, they do Barlow well with my Hyperion zoom Barlow.

Recommended 👍

Thanks Dave will keep an eye out for an 18mm BCO, I also fancy a pair of the celestron ultima sp’s after buying those halloween plossls off you. Ahh the expense of it all 🤣

A 'large' flight case from Allendales...

The scope fits with plenty of space to spare...

Possessing zero craft skills, I'm not looking forward to cutting the foam to shape. 🙄

I drew around the scope contours, cut the outline and then cut squares inside the lines and did the plucking thing. It seemed to work fine.

I bought the same for my Christmas pressies 80ed. Just cut around the foam, not brilliant cutting but did the job. Solar ED scope very comfortable and secure. Compliments my Lunt very nicely.

As long as it hold the telescope firmly that’s the most important thing 👍

What i found works well is the craft knife with the snap off blades use the blade at full length it cuts the full thickness in one go

Well, that’s what I used. Anything shorter than those blades chews the foam up.
