This is my 250-PDS in tracking last night - with star adventurer behind it. Watch for the drop in sky brightness at 39 seconds ... caused by streetlights turning off at 1:15am.

Nice! I just love those tracking time lapses, they really highlight the mechanics of the cosmos (not sure of that makes sense) lol.

Here's mine from last night at the end of imaging Spider Nebula.

I thought I'd try to get some sky in it to show the advantage of Bortle 2 on a clear night. :D

This is a 40 second image at ISO 3200 so the stars are trailing, but you can make out M45 just left of centre.

I went out for a look at the moon this evening, it was good to get out do some observing and be packed up by 9.30pm, nice and civilised. Here's a picture... you can see just about all of the set up except for the scope itself!

The Starwave Classic 102 f/11 on my Vixen GPD2 whilst packing up tonight.

This setup performed brilliantly tonight both in terms of accuracy using the Synscan App over wi-fi and stability.

Very pleasing though too brief a session due to it being a work night.

Here’s my setup in action last night. I’m a photographer, I don’t use a flash. But I may need to do some colour calibration and stretching.

Ok, no kidding this time. The setup just before lights out. But still a long time before action, since astro darkness doesn't start until 11 pm up here. Fortunately, the moon is out of the way, still. One more week and imaging season will be over here.

First dark sky trip in months, capitalising on cold clear skies and easing of covid restrictions. New favoured location on the edge of the Wark Forest in Northumberland. After midnight, my SQM at zenith was hitting above 21.6.

Tonight was all about 'mooning'...

Several subs using the Starwave Ascent 102ED and DSLR. A bit of very enoyable visual and finishing with the 450D alone.

and a 450D on an L-bracket...

I hope it went well Peter, how are you getting on with the dslr now, I reckon put your dslr on your Starwave and give that a go at some deepsky, it should manage the weight 👍

It went absolutely pants mate. I should start a 'Show us your cock ups' thread for some light relief. 😯😁

The scope takes the dslr fine and no focusing issues but the mount is being pushed to its limit. A HEQ5 or equivalent would be the ideal probably.

With the dslr alone, I need to shorten the subs from 8 secs to maybe 5-7 and take more of them. Still getting to grips with modes and settings too.

A consolatory hour of lunar observation was enjoyed though. The Altair triple combo of scope, 24mm UFF and diagonal produced satisfyingly sharp low mag. lunar features.

You'll get there Peter, best thing is to keep trying then you suddenly click and find a way to work it. If you need anymore help with your dslr let me know. Defiantly more subs the better in my experience. I've never tried my dslr on the az gti yet, do you get a lot of star trailing at 8secs. I'm glad Luna gave you you cracking views 👍

My first chance to get out in 2021 (work or weather always get in the way) and I had nothing ready.  Purchases during lockdown have given me a celestron 925 SCT, a skywatcher EQ6R-Pro (both second-user), ASI224MC and a brand new SW 80ED DS-Pro (amongst many other items) - all of which are still in the box/case and yet to see any light.

So it was left to a quick charge of a battery for the 200D, a set of Aldi batteries in the Star Adventurer and thankfully the SW Illuminator didn't need a new CR2032.  But I've a feeling my polar alignment might have been better than my focusing, I'll find out in the morning I guess.

But here's the quickly assembled rig - oh, and "Hi from Shropshire", my first post in an SGL forum 👋

(edit) oh, the images were taken with a Pixel 5, probably my best images of the night 🤣
