Hi Guys,

Good luck and I have my fingers crossed for good weather for Feb. Unfortunately I am unable to make it, would love to, but other commitments on my time. I will definitely be making the Autumn party - if you will put up with a p*ssed itinerant  Irishman, again

Pity it is that weekend Mike. I am up in rural Perthshire at my astro soc's dark skies weekend.  I hope that you and I both get clear skies that weekend.

See you at the next CSP or Kielder.

Hi Davy, timelapse but to my knowledege no video photographers,if i`m wrong someone will put me right,it would be great to have your branch of astronomy represented ,we are always eager for new challenges,

You are more than welcome to book in,although just how you will make sure that the dates coincide with your one day a year  of mischief will be a hard act to follow?

Seriously it is well worth the trip and if the ordered clear skies appear you will enjoy yourself.

The campsite is great, well presented and Lesley and Ralph do their utmost to protect the dark conditions .

Let me know if you have anymore questions, look forward to meeting you ,

Regards

Mike.

I have just before Christmas sold my scope so unless I attend with the 9x50 finder scope there won't be much in the way of Gazing going off on my pitch.

Will miss the socializing though. I'll just have to concentrate on getting the scope ready for the Autumn gathering.

May still make the trip yet but it will be worth it for those with scope's

Hope to make a booking in the next few days. Only able to make the Fri & Sat nights. I will say one thing, I am certainly going to buy a big screw to put into the ground and a turn-buckle to hold my mount and scope in place. Can't be doing with the wind blowing my kit over again, got away with it once, don't think I will again.

Looking forward to meeting some people that were at the Nov party again and some new faces

Details have now been released for the 15th annual "Starfest" starcamp organised by Scarborough & Ryedale Astronomical Society. The 3 day event takes place in Adderstone Field, Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire between Friday 14th and Sunday 16th August. Astronomers from across the UK attend this event to take advantage of the dark skies in the North York Moors National Park and the forest has recently been awarded "Milky Way class" of the Dark Sky Discovery status.

For those who have not attended Dalby previously, please note the facilities are basic! Its all about the quality of the skies.

Guest speakers for the weekend will be announced in due course as they are confirmed.
More information and a booking form can be downloaded from the Scarborough & Ryedale AS website (http://www.scarborough-ryedale-as.org.uk/saras/starfest/starfest-2015/).

The society can also be found on Facebook and Twitter.  To avoid confusion with other events using the name Starfest, we have opted for an offical hashtag for this years event of #DalbyStarfest15.
