Hi Derek,

All that malt will be more mature in November!

Had a good time at Chapel-le-Dale.

Getting ready for SGL X at the moment, only two weeks to go.

Getting over the bad cough Mike so generously donated to me.

Cheers

Adrian

Ay!

Mike is very good like that, he is very generous, not greedy at all, is he?

Hia Mike!

Hope you enjoy SGLX Adrian, I haven't the time to go but maybe one day!

Trouble is that malt does not improve in the bottle. So in appreciation of this, I will just have to drink it before then (to stop it going off) and convince Err Indoors that I need some more.

Regards,

Derek

Hi Damian,

I'm glad you got out a bit even if it was with a titchy scope. Somat is always better than nowt!!

Is Kieran going to post the images or has he already. I'd be interested to see them, in fact I'd guess most of us would. Especially Orion for me, as it is always my favourite. Weather has put a stop to a lot of fun recently. Still, a way to go before we loose all the dark nights yet.

Regards to you both,

Derek

Derek I've posted the Galloway Star Party 2014 video on each of the Galloway SP pages of look for it on youtube under Galloway Star Party 2014.

Hi Kieran,

Was talking here with Damian. He passed on your Flicker account details. Loved the images. Great to see them and so many! You've been busy. The music on the time lapse, what was it? Very appropriate. It will be good to catch up with every one later in the year at Drumroamin. Are you and Damian  venturing to Kielder as well? If so see you there.

Regards,

 Derek

Hi Geoff,

Great to hear that you are planning a trip to the Galloway star party in November.

You can follow the thread for that gathering at

http://stargazerslounge.com/topic/233505-galloway-autumn-starparty-2015/page-6

It is the best star party that I attend.

It has the darkest skies, great campsite, spotlessly clean and very helpful owners.

The other attendees are a brilliant bunch who go out of their way to help each other.

(I love just sitting there and watching people struggle putting their tents up in gusty winds!!!)

You should have no difficulty in enjoying the event.

Cheers

Adrian

Details have now been released for the 15th annual "Starfest" starcamp organised by Scarborough & Ryedale Astronomical Society. The 3 day event takes place in Adderstone Field, Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire between Friday 14th and Sunday 16th August. Astronomers from across the UK attend this event to take advantage of the dark skies in the North York Moors National Park and the forest has recently been awarded "Milky Way class" of the Dark Sky Discovery status.

For those who have not attended Dalby previously, please note the facilities are basic! Its all about the quality of the skies.

Guest speakers for the weekend will be announced in due course as they are confirmed.
More information and a booking form can be downloaded from the Scarborough & Ryedale AS website (http://www.scarborough-ryedale-as.org.uk/saras/starfest/starfest-2015/).

The society can also be found on Facebook and Twitter.  To avoid confusion with other events using the name Starfest, we have opted for an offical hashtag for this years event of #DalbyStarfest15.
