Not strictly speaking a postie, but I got my first delivery of storage stuff back last week, containing at least these three scopes:

Skymax 102

Charles Frank! I can fondly remember gazing longingly in his shop window in Parnie street Glasgow. Your post brought back so many memories for me.

The trofast tray I use for eyepiece and observing stuff is being overwhelmed.  Between my eyepieces, power for the dob fan, seat for the observing chair and the other gubbins, it is too small.

Picked up this manfrotto backpack (bumblebee 130) for £22 of fleabay in the hopes I'll turn it into something I can use for taking my kit out without having to evolve into an octopus.

Any resemblance to a grab and go backpack for a short focal length, high quality refractor is entirely coincidence.  It's even got straps for a tripod, but that is a coincidence.  Honest

Edit:  although I must say, without the diagonal it is a perfect fit for the ST80 down the middle...

I inherited this from my grandad, it's the first scope I ever looked through. I had the mirror realuminised some years ago before it went into storage, and it def needs a bit more work but I'm hoping to have it out more once I'm settled in!

Royal Mail are doing my head in. I ordered a finder from FLO last week. It's supposed to be first class but still hasn't arrived. That's the second time in a few weeks RM has failed to deliver on time 🤬🤬🤬

DHL whisked this to the west coast in just a week's time.

I tested it today, using AA's Herschel wedge.

It does transmit at 540nm (green) light, however, I found it did not enhance contrast to any noticeable degree, using a variety of ep and mags.

I will try again another time, but it seems unlikely the view will change, we'll see.

Back to Royal Mail, the finder sent first class last Friday by FLO still hasn't arrived. And now an item sent yesterday 24h tracked...

"Sorry, your parcel from First Light Optics needed to be re-routed.
It's now on its way to you."

Sigh... I'll be contacting @FLO later today to let them know the issues I'm having with Royal Mail. I just want my stuff 😭

In recent times, items I've bought from members sent 1st class have been taking 7-8 days. An item sent next day before 12:00 arrived the day after - when I was in Greece

To be fair  the Greeks do have a formidable reputation for efficiency. 😀

Actually sooner than I expected given stock levels, my replacement Baader CoolWedge Mark II. All is perfect with this one, no problems fortunately so I will write up about it on my other thread.

Neighbor's solar powered fairy lights are doing my head in now the Sun is about so I got one of these. Complete shadow once inside and enough room for me and my grab n go SD81s, hopefully give it a test drive tonight as the skies are clearing right now. Not enough room for the SD115s on the SXD2 and me, but if my new EAA adventure pans out, there is a second room to add which would mean I could set the scope up in one room and have the laptop in the other(and some beers).

Well I have to say I’ve listened to people on here giving them praise so many times I’ve actually bought a couple myself. I purchased the 5 & 8mm  and I have to agree they seem superb and I’ve had some really expensive eyepieces believe me so enjoy them.
