An AZ-GTiX, but with the SW 1.75" 3/8" tripod, which looks better to me than the bundled option.

Great service from FLO/DHL - these were in my hands 25 hours from pressing the button.

I'll be using this with my existing OTAs, but I'm hoping that the goto and tracking will be a bit more reliable than with my existing Star Discovery (to be fair, I suspect I've overloaded it by adding various bits and pieces to my scopes).

What sort of load do you think you'll be using? Mine seems quite happy with my Starfield 102 (5.2kg fully loaded).

By DHL this time! Thought I’d have some fun messing about with this Meade 80 that I got from a London cashconverters. Changed the focuser as you can see in the pic,  the original is surprisingly good! No slop in it at all!! But I want to be able to use 2” eyepieces so fitting the TS focuser is all I’ve got.

Took out the objectives and blackened the edges, thought I messed up when refitting, as the view was terrible! Put the front lens in backwards…oops!

Now want a Baader contrast booster.

Depending on the OTA and configuration, somewhere between 4.6kg and 5.6kg, but I'd also like to try two at once.

Postman didn’t exactly bring this I picked it up up at Tractor Supply Store about an hour away from my home but it was worth the ride for the value ($35) and it keeps my astronomical supplies organized already know I’ll be needing another one. I could have laid it out neater but I decided to add the dividers after I had placed my items instead of before or just leaving them out all together so it doesn’t look as nice as it could look but hey it suits its purpose. IMG_1304.thumb.jpeg.a0b32c6df0d1f4bf98aeb7e1a93992be.jpeg

DPD delivery today of a Starfield Herschel Wedge. A very substantial piece of kit and solidly built. It comes in a quality carrying case with ND3 and polarising filters internal to the wedge itself. The brightness is adjustable by rotating the lockable turret. Looking forward to trying this out.

In a second DPD delivery today (I don’t know why they don’t combine deliveries into one 🤔) This time it’s an Altair solar continuum filter for the wedge. Being cheaper than the Baader, both are 540nm and the Baader being 7.5nm whilst the Altair 8nm.

A Stellalyra 6" CC, my new Planet Killer to compliment my TS Optics 102 APO.

Lovely scope. I'd be interested to hear how it compares to the 102 apo.

My new, used Explore Scientific 2 inch star diagonal with 99% reflectivity, dielectric coated optics and 1/12 lamda performance. The sky is clear right now, so it should shortly cloud over ...

I believe it’s identical to my WO 2” diagonal. Looks identical and has the same specs🤔

Oooh - a box with Japanese writing on it! Who could it be from? Starbase? Buyee?

No - it's from  @Franklin of course! With a little Oklop bag:

It's for the following, which  the postperson didn't deliver. I had to pick it up myself.

My first fancy-glass refractor. It's been cloudy ever since! 🙄

A typically quick delivery from FLO.

I swear my wife's engagement ring came in a less fancy box.

Couldn't resist giving it a try and compare against the OVL 16mm.  Also took the opportunity to try out the MoveshootMove mobile phone holder.  Pretty minimal flex in the setup on the scope and surprisingly not that difficult to setup.

Going to have to look into getting a new setup for the eyepieces.  Between them and the various other gubbins I need to take out on a night I think a small camera backpack is on the cards.

Edit:  I'm removed the miages through the eyepiece and put them here:

Wouldn't mind betting the Morph will wipe the floor with the OVL, even though the latter is an extremely good VFM EP.

I added a link to my ongoing saga in wide angle eyepieces.  I'm still new to the whole imaging through a lens thing and the images were taken in the day, but I would say it does.  The OVL does a good job, but I found the distortion a bit too distracting sometimes, especially when trying to sketch.  On a lot of objects it's not an issue, but there were a couple where it gave me a sad.

Home from work to find a FLO box had been delivered. I've had a few binoviewers over the years but these are something else. Haven't used them yet but I can already see that these are keepers.

Two diagonals and an adapter. Dare I say it but sat next to the BBHS 2” mirror diagonal, the T-2 looks “cute”.

The small diagonal plus adapter are the final bits for my SW EvoGuide 50 to make it into a luxury finder.

And see what passes for delivery around here - some of them can’t be bothered to go up my lane. It was pouring with rain and luckily I saw the van down the road from the house.

I've been eyeing this scope since it came out 👀 It was in stock in a local shop, with a 200€ price difference vs other shops, so I bit the bullet.

What a beauty! Very well made and well thought out. Everything feels right.

The lazy astronomer I am is happy: it's a flat field design, no more fiddling with back focus or collimation, and I'll put it on a mount that doesn't need balancing 😇

I wonder how well it would work with a 2x barlow. That would make a nice 1200mm f/15 scope, perfect for lunar or perhaps some planetary as well. I might get the 0.7x reducer at some point, to get a wider FOV. At 600mm and 450mm, it pairs nicely with my ASI1600 & ASI2600 for a lot of DSOs.

I like the fact I can have 3 scopes in 1, when paired with a reducer and a barlow. It will be a replacement for my 400mm doublet, 130mm refractor and 4" Maksutov, since the 80PHQ covers all their respective focal lengths. I'll lose of course the bigger aperture of the SW 130P-DS, but on the other hand the image quality and ease of use/transportation will improve.
