  1. Been watching Saturn too this week, was really bright the other night and could make out quite a bit of detail when the atmosphere calmed down. Using a 114mm reflector with a 5mm eyepiece. Bit hazy in Worcestershire tonight so not as good but the wife got see Saturn for the first time tonight.

  4. Jason from the Small Optics Youtube channel made some good videos on collimation
  5. I have access to laser cutters at work, a 1KW, a 2KW and two 4KW. This months BBC Sky at Night magazine has a project for building an EQ mount for a camera, they use plywood but i am going to make it out of aluminium.
  6. Both of these turned up today, courtesy of FLO, hope it clears up tonight 🤞

    Thanks for the welcomes folks. been having a good search around this site and found some very useful info. My son is certainly getting interested in Astronomy, he stuck some star stickers on his wall and showed me three stuck closeley together in a line, and said "thats brians belt" 😅
  9. I'm quite lucky because I am in a fishing club that has a water that you access from a locked gate and a 1/4mile track. Its in bortle 4 so slightly better seeing than the garden (bortle 5).

    Hi Just introducing myself, fairly new watcher from Worcestershire. Got into star gazing around xmas time when my 6 year old got a small refractor from his Nan. i ordered myself a 114mm reflector not long after and have been getting to grips with it.
