Cycling on my recumbent trike. This gets me slightly fit, groups of us nice people meet up , camp and tour around looking for real ale.The benefits being that it's hard to fall off of a trike and they're terrifyingly faaaaaaast.

Also on Velo Vision Magazine - inspiring news of specialised cycles, bikes as transport and human power as n-ick.

I used to be active in a band, but life has pretty much stopped that, but i still appreciate music, and listen to music during the day at work.

My other pastime is gaming, I only play 2 games, but to be fair there the only ones worth playing, WoW on my PC and CoD 6 on my 360. I have put lots of hours into those.

And as im opening a Games / Toy shop and do my mail order I do those lots, there kida crossover work/play :D

I do tend to like a bit of road cycling on my rustbucket Holdsworth racer. Camping is another one of my hobbies, albeit car camping, no lightweight tents and carrying everything in a rucksack. Casual video games, I am not a hardcore gamer and tend to spend very little on new releases, AC Brotherhood is my new game which I am slowly playing through to 100%.

Golf, sea fishing - shore and boat, like to make my own fishing lures and flies. Photography. Used to do judo, archery some cycling and mountain biking.

Gardening, travel, cooking.

Collect lots, usually expensive bits.

Studying clouds seems to be what I end up doing a lot of, also studying the weather.

Guitar playing, building and tinkering with (guitar) valve amplifiers, repairing things. Star gazing is an odd hobby in that it is very much controlled by the weather and the time of year so you definitely need a few other things to keep amused.

I have for the last 8 years been involved with Model Rocketry (Design/Build and Fly) with a few clubs. I have some video at YouTube - PigmasterRockets's Channel

if any wants a look, though I have just given all that up due to my health and want to concentrate on a hobby that I don't have to travel to do.

Other hobbies has been IT since 1981 when I got hooked on a zx81, since then I program and also try to use stats and data to predict football matches.

Last few years got a greenhouse and chickens as well.

I do some fishing, mainly coarse, when possible. I also enjoy birdwatching and nature rambles. As a family we love visiting theme parks, especially the Disney and Universal parks in the USA and Europe - which seems to be even more expensive than Astronomy :D

Main hobbies outside of the night sky are: listening to hard/heavy rock music (went to see Alter Bridge a couple of weeks ago, totally blew me away:p), playing my Fender Strat and Marlique Broken Wings (badly), fishing, anything to do with nature, walking our Dobermann, Kobi, in the country with my wife Heather, (see pictures of Kobi), driving, good food and drink and travelling to new places.

Think that's about it...how do I find time to be at work??:D

cheers

Dave

No time for hobbies anymore:( I have a young son and another on the way so don't have the time. Before I moved to Europe I was pretty big into coarse fishing but the move has killed that off, it is something I will need to make room for again I think as I miss it lots.

I guess there is other stuff but it's the angling that sticks out the most for me.

Surprising (or maybe not :D) how many of us share similar pastimes, mine are:

1. Fishing, general course after several years hunting c a r p which usually ended up becoming a naked eye observation session - very relaxing and a great escape from hobby no.3

2. Photography, have just started playing with film again in medium format and 35mm and scanning the results, gives huge files which produce better quality results than my old cannon 8 megapixel dslr ever did! and much more cheaply!!

3. Wife and three young daughters!

Oh well here goes, computers, including websites, shore fishing, reading (mainly sci-fi and horror - watch out for that lovecraft movie!), music (anyhing that grabs my attention)...used to play squash but ligament damage finished that one!

Now gardening/allotment is my "other" outdoor passion.
