Evening all,

New moon is on March 11th, Mothering Sunday in 2013 falls on March 10th. When SGL6 clashed with mothering Sunday it did cause a few issues.

Because of moon phase dates, the weather, BST and other commitments that the site has we have set the dates for SGL8

15th - 18th March 2013.

New Moon is the 11th

First quarter is the 18th.

Sunrise times

14th 18.14 - 06.25

15th 18.16 - 06.23

16th 18.17 - 06.20

17th 18.19 - 06.18

18th 18.21 - 06.16

Astro Dark

14th 20.08 - 04.32

15th 20.10 - 04.29

16th 20.12 - 04.26

17th 20.14 - 04.24

18th 20.16 - 04.21

Moon set

14th sets 21.45

15th sets 22.51

16th sets 23.53

17th sets 00.18

18th sets 00.58

Mercury [on 15th] rises 45 minutes before the sun, so may be visible in the East.

Venus [on 15th] sets before the sun and rises after! So a difficult target for SGL8.

Mars setting within 30 minutes of the sun.

Jupiter will be an evening star in the west setting around 1am.

Saturn rises at around 10pm, so will be visible for most of the night.

Uranus setting within 1hr of the Sun, will be tricky in the twilight.

Neptune rises only about 30 minutes before the sun.

We'll let everyone know when the booking will open.

Hi Ant,

Thanks for the early warning. I will start saving up for the Jaffa Cakes!!

As it is a little earlier than this year the weather may be slightly cooler. But given how terrible the recent weather has been you never know want is coming next.

Anyway, I am looking forward to SGL8, great event and very enjoyable.

Sold out faster than a boy band concert Keith ;)

But by the time the dates arrived we were able to accommodate everybody who expressed an interest I believe so no need to panic :eek:

Not from the original allocation - we went back to the site and asked for more space and we didn't fully use those.

We are also planning on opening the booking a little earlier for next year.

Just for your Viv, we'll open the booking page AFTER the world ends on December 21st!

Now added to the calendar ;)

Same place as last time? (hope so!) This time we wont have BST to deal with, I remember this causing a few issues with some peoples gear at SGL7.

Hog Roast!!!! :mad::)

Venue = Yes

BST = No

Hog Roast = yes :eek:
