What did the postman bring?

The DPD man surprised me with a Sunday delivery this morning. A Giro-WR and various bits and pieces to go with it. This brings me into the world of dual mounted scopes. The sun even came out so I could give it a try! Seems really stable even on my carbon fibre photo tripod. Had wondered whether I’d need to get a chunky steel tripod but first impressions are that it seems good. 064318C4-8213-4C04-9F5F-38C229AC77CD.thumb.jpeg.09aa473e354931e736449de21a8634c1.jpeg

That’s a great setup Neil, glad to see it getting some use 👍👍

This was a somewhat convoluted purchase, which I’m not sure I even understand myself 🤪. Suffice to say I ended up with what I was after, which was two nice Vixen 20mm eyepieces for binoviewing.

Stu. Very nice. Fancy a pair of these for my BV’s. Any particular source or just a wanted ad ??

Thx. John

These were off eBay,  but actually from our own @F15Rules and before him @Franklin I think! It all got a bit confusing I must say. I bid on the auction thinking it was for two, but it was for one (clearly stated if I had read it!!), paid a low price for two (one) then Dave offered me the second so I ended up paying what I thought I would in the first place. See? Clear as mud 🤪🤣

Yes, I guess try a wanted ad on here, or ABS, although I think ABS may be a little more prone to scams on wanted ads. If you are patient, they do come up every now and then.

A rare secondhand purchase for me, via DPD.

A new guidescope for the RC10, the adapted skywatcher 50mm spotter I've been using maybe isn't up to the job. Was OK on 250PDS but I think I'm kidding myself at how good it's guiding the RC10 at f820230221_143314.thumb.jpg.e8a2c05d07a1d41bb2a881550b6351d8.jpg

To complement my aforementioned Dobknob, the final Dob-fettling purchase for a while, it’s….

A handle. 377064AB-8572-4759-B724-512FDC3E5FC1.thumb.jpeg.cc13a7d0bd24a9b1635865d872b36b08.jpeg

It's a towel hanger! I was weary of fixing a handle to my refractor, now I realize anything is possible!🤣
