First light for my Asiair pro on my already owned skywatcher 72ed ds pro az gti with Canon 600D. Finally got first light with my AAP after 7 weeks of cloudy skies on Sunday night, and now had Tuesday and tonight (wed) clear skies, they are like buses down here and more clear skies forecast this week too, so I'm making hay will the sunshine or clear night's on the NA nebula, I know the moon has been full and just past full but I don't care, after 7 weeks I just loved being out there imaging with my set up, wish I could do longer stints at night but I can't leave my setup unattended and I'm on overtime this week so 4.30am starts 😔

Finally got out with the Tak last night, and having just sold my lovely Ercole, I used my Giro-WR which proved to be up to the job with a counterweight. Hopefully I will have access to my Planet tripod soon so I can use the AZ100 for the first time!

Feeling like a proper astronomer, live stacking Jupiter!

The Altair Astro Starwave Ascent 102ED, attached to a GSO 2.5x ED barlow, Starwave 1.25" diagonal and a super cheap used Opticstar PX35C Coolair ccd cam. Mounted on an a Celestron AVX. It's a great night but works beckons in the morning. I don't want to pack up! 🧐

Hah thanks. Kids' play but I've not done it before. 🙄 I was surprised at the level of detail and got rather excited. 😁

Several movies recorded so lucky imaging here I come. I should have used the Mak but tbh I didn't know if the £15 Ebay camera even worked properly. 👍

I dunno if any use for short periods away if you are close - when I'm in motorhome I'm usually in middle of nowhere and more bothered about sheep knocking it over, but this gives me some peace of mind - I just velcro it on the side of mount. it has a remote to turn on and off. bloody loud motion sensing alarm.

Look like you are up a hill, Stu. Is that your garden?

Should get good views 👍🏻

Thank you Stu, it looks a good piece of kit that. I will think about it if I can be brave enough to leave my scope in the communal area, the opposite side to the inage is a low 3 foot fence to a car park and houses. My bedroom is arrowed and I have to walk all the way around from the front to the communal area and the path is open to a side road, so not sure if I'm brave enough, but worth considering, thank you

It's not really night yet but I'm hoping to have some fun with the 130mm triplet later after being clouded out last night :rolleyes2:

I'll pop the mount out later, if it stays clear.

It’s a monster, it’s a beautiful monster! planetary views must be glorious.

A rather over mounted Skymax 102 on a Celestron AVX. The dovetail was barely big enough too. After a failed planetary imaging session I switched to visual as the sky's milky veil thickened. The Altair 24mm UFF and GSO 2.5x ED barlow is a combo I've not tried before but it delivered. It left me trying to justify to myself why I bought a decent refractor when I already have an 'ED' scope!

How much cooling does your 130 mm need? I’m thinking mine needs around 60 minutes and that’s from being in the garage before Jupiter sharpens up.

Fantastic, Is this going to be a YouTube video Chris? I've spent most of the week on NA nebula (6 clear night's out of 7 here, I've definitely used up my years quota) it's in the deepsky images section, wonderful target to get.

A sudden rare weather phenomena where the sky is not fully covered in clouds appeared, got to start my post summer DSO season!

Everything is going wrong of course, broke my bahtinov mask in transportation so had to focus on the moon, which i would of course wish was not up messing with background lighting. Forgot to balance the scope before PHD2 calibration... Too excited to begin again. Still nice to actually do astronomy again.

You know me Lee, of course it's going to be a youtube video 😄 I'm lost for words hearing that you had 6 clear nights out of 7! What how who what? I'll head over and check out the image now :)
