Hi all,

Been lurking for a little while now, but thought that I would say hello.  Great forum with lots of good advice.

My interest in this starting when camping last year an we were sat around the dying embers of a fire.  Looking for passing satellites I thought to myself, that's a funny cloud, only to quickly realise that it was the milky way!  Sure enough, when I got home I rooted around the garage for my father's 3" Tasco reflector (circa 1970) and set it up.  The winter months rolled in and I found myself buying a 130mm Celestron which is where I am now - but am already contemplating a 12" Dob.  I've seen some pretty great things already and am working my way through the Messier list, but Saturn has been making my jaw drop recently.

Anyway, thanks for reading and I hope to be picking your brains a bit more!  Lots to learn

-George

Hello and welcome. Very friendly and very knowledgeable bunch on here who are always eager to help.

I agree that the weather has been less than perfect in the past few weeks (work doesn't help, either   ) but the cosmos will still be there, unchanged, (planets and moon excepted) when the weather does eventually clear

Clear skies to you George
