@Captain Scarlet Looks like you are going to be doing some imaging…, thought you were a visual observer?!

Good heavens no :) . I plan to use it as a super-finder in much the same way that @markse68 has done. I now need to get hold of a T-2 1.25” diagonal to screw onto the FF, plus a short-path focuser on the other side, and I should be good to go with my Panoptic 24 to give me very nice 10x50 finder views.

You can get a T-2 to 1.25" eyepiece holder from Baader, and plug your diagonal into that.  The evoguide gives a really bright and sharp view visually.

I have gone to The Dark Side......
ASI120MC-S from here used from fellow SGL member.
Just ordered the lens adapter from FLO a few minutes ago to fit a CCTV lens.

In reality I will play with it for solar images perhaps in the Summer Months, but its intended for an Allsky Camera set up.

OK, I’ll let you off ;-)!! I’m looking for an erecting image, right angled, wide field 3-5x finder with a nice illuminated reticle for daytime use… not coming up with many options. I think I threw out the remains on an old 5x50 I could have Franken-modded… 😞 just have to live with the 1x.

Oh, lookie, no-one had posted a review, so I fell to temptation and picked up the new moon atlas on the block. If you’ve not got a lunar atlas then this is definitely recommended. Uses the same maps as the 21st century moon atlas with larger scale, but without the non-atlas bits. The paper looks nice and may do better with dew than normal paper atlas.

no longer do you need to find an over priced copy of Rukl….

I found in one of my bags a SW 6x30 straight-through yesterday, actually. I think it came with a Skymax 127 I used to have. Will that do? You can have it gratis. I’ll be in uk shortly.

Some purchases for one of my new scopes. It comprises of an 8” dew shield for my SCT, 8” dew heater ring for the corrector plate, 2” WO Durabright diagonal, WO SCT visual back that screws directly onto the diagonal (after removing the nosepiece) a 2.1mm male to 2 x female splitter cable, a 2.1mm to cigarette female for my dew controller, a 2”-1.25” Baader clicklock and lastly a Celestron WiFi adapter.

No it’s just the money I made from my previous sales (mostly 😂)

Excellent! Actually, thinking about it, you could get all that for less than the price of a triplet frac.....

A 6mm and 10mm BCO for me. Mainly wanted the 10mm to try out as a Bino pair with one I have already.

Simple, no nonsense and great value EPs. Love mine. Tested the 6mm back to back against the 6.5mm Morpheus in the moon and found it to be sharper and with better contrast.

Courtesy of the gentleman @bosun21 an absolutely pristine Starfield 102ed

Great build quality and stunningly sharp views looking at the branches across the way against the blue sky. I swear I saw an ant wink at me 😉. Love that the baffles continue down the focuser drawtube. I’m finding the twist-lock ring on the end of the drawtube very stiff though, I keep unscrewing the adapter when trying to undo the twist lock.

I found the BCO’s to be excellent on the moon and planets but for everything else I found the Morpheus range to leave them behind.

Buy yourself the Baader M63 clicklock for 2.5” focusers. The existing Axil lock just unscrews from the draw tube and the Baader clicklock just screws directly on.

Wonderful scope! I was just in the showroom at the shop where the gentleman who owns Starfield sells from, he had a 102 on display, it’s an impressive refractor. Congratulations!

Ok, possibly not the world's most exciting delivery - not quite up there with a new Obsession or Takahashi - but hopefully useful nonetheless. A pair of parfocal rings for 2" EPs:

IMG_20230117_185755.thumb.jpg.7dff41d0ae1edf02c4533b2a7d22d3d2.jpg

It was irritating me that to achieve focus on my 2" 30mil Celestron Ultima Edge, I had to ease the EP out of the focuser slightly. Using one of these means I can choose exactly what focus suits me and leave the ring on the EP for next time (there are two Allan screws to keep it fixed). So much easier than swapping backwards and forwards with an extension tube. Anything for an easier life....😉
