  1. The data you have has given a really good result, adding more with darker skies later will be a benefit.
  2. Excellent image, some really nice detail showing.
  3. I have a Lakeside hooked up to a Pegasus UPV2 and controlled by Ekos, works well. No need for the control box, extra power cable and much tidier.
  4. That's a lot of stars !
  5. You know you're going to have to fill the gaps now.😇
  6. You might want to add a TeleVue Powermate for imaging planets and even more distant DSO's. Save that for a future purchase though. I think your list sounds reasonable for starters, you will however spend more money in the future.
  7. Looks like you need a total of 56mm, you might just need to add a 1mm shim. DSLR + adapter is usually 55mm.
  8. Have you checked on Altair Astro's website. https://www.altairastro.com
  9. It might be close enough to work. The 6.5mm for the T2, can that be changed to a M48 adapter ? I'm guessing it's about M68 to T2 you have on there.
  10. Looks great, well done.
  11. Yup, there's some movement. Best way to reduce this is to set it to timer or use a remote trigger. If you can lock up the mirror that could help as well.
  12. Excellent image, lovely star colours.
  13. I take it it can not be put on back to front so my only idea now is does it rattle when shaken?
  14. I would keep playing with ISO and times. Try to find a sweet spot where the background isn't too noisy.
  15. Interesting, without the FF/FR there is a slight blur inwards, with the FF/FR Crescent image there is a very weird change. The centre 3rd looks ok, the intermediate 3rd looks like there is a circular distortion as if it's too far out and the outer 3rd looks like it's too close with the blur radiating outwards. Wild guess is that you have the wrong FF/FR or it's duff.
  16. With a 2 x barlow you are doubling the Focal ration as well as the focal length so you will need longer exposures. One reason you're only seeing one star is that the images will probably need stretching and 1 or 2 seconds won't show much anyway. Try 30 to 60 seconds on M101 at ISO 1600 and do a histogram stretch in software processing to see what shows up.
  17. That's weird, it does actually look worse. It might help taking shots of the same target at same length of exposure. You'll be able to tell more accurately how much each change affects things by the length of star elongation.
  18. If you have a 5 or 10mm spacer then try that first. It looks like it would be more than the odd millimetre out.
  19. The filter wheel is the SXUFW-UM36T, has 7 pos 1.25" carousel for LRGBHOS. Perfect for most SX CCDs. Don't know about the KAF you're interested in, if the sensor is large I think you may need 2" filters. As for the Lodestar/GPCAM2 I think the Lodestar will be far better. Wouldn't mind one myself. Although the GPCAM can be used for imaging.
  20. Definitely too close, as for how much I think it'll be down to trial and error.
  21. Might be worth putting a nut and washer on the back side if screws are long enough and there's room. Might help spread the clamping load a little.
  22. Yes the Altair will work on Mac, you just need capture software that has the INDI driver for it. I use KStars/Ekos and GPCAM3 224C for guiding. Main camera is Starlight Xpress Trius 694M
