Glad Mrs F15Rules let you out, Dave. You must have been well and truly baffled 😮

Not Mrs F15Rules, Jeremy..

It was actually hordes of wretched Thunderflies..they can get everywhere, including into scope optics! I've had them get into and behind a laptop screen, and there's no way to remove them.

The thought of the critters getting in behind that Fluorite front element gave me the shudders😱😂!!

So the scope went into her holdall in the house and, thanks to life and weather issues, there she has stayed still today ☺️👍

I think you have it all mixed up..

This is a "Show us your Tak" thread.

If you don't like it, why don't you start a "Show us your  TEC/StellaRvue/Borg/Televue" thread instead? 😊

Dave

The irony of those last two posts is frankly staggering.

Anyway….

No stranger to this thread but not recently, having been in storage literally since  August..🤦‍♂️😏. But...

..My Precious is back! All fettled and ready for the winter season, complete with MBII's and Tak Equatorial😊.

Dave

PS I hadn't realised before..the focuser alone has 5 internal, blackened baffles! (try saying that without your teeth in!)😂

My Starfield 102 has 8 or 9 baffles in the focuser tube as well as the main tube being baffled. I kept going cross eyed trying to count them

Baffled by baffles 😁

My Vixen has quite few in the focuser drawtube as well plus 4 in the main tube.

i am loving this scope not only for its big strength (flat and wide) but also for its ability to bring me a nice planetary view from a tiny package. Out last night observing the GRS transit on Jupiter at about minus three degrees...

i wouldn't ordinarily post two in a row being the shy and retiring type but this was unusual in my home office this morning - no idea what had caught the rising sun to create this dispersion of sunlight in the (darker) western side of my house just now but i like it...

Are you preparing to observe The Dark Side of the Moon?

I could have staged it with the album cover if i were a quicker thinker (and a bit sad). "There is no dark side of the moon..."

"...as a matter of fact, it's all dark."

Wow, I hadn't thought about that TV series since I watched my last episode during the initial run when I was age 10.

I use the Skywatcher 6x30 finder and Tak diagonals with mine.

On the other side of the cradle on the photo thread screw is a smartphone holder so I can use Astrohopper - this works quite well on a manual altaz mount.  I had to add a washer to get the holder at the right angle.

I use it on a az4 at the moment but in the future, a mount with slo-mo controls would be nice.    I wouldn't mind a microfocuser and the baader clicklock back but I'm in no rush for those.

A FC-100 Classic.

Its a superb luxury item. The standard by which I judge all other telescopes that come and go. I have the matching original focal reducer to go with it if I ever want to take photos.
