With sincere apologies for the unashamed, attention seeking ‘Look at me’ post!

Can you tell that;

a) It’s cloudy

b) Mrs Stu is away

c) I’m bored 🤪

Thought this might give an easy way of comparing the three scopes. The AZ75 handles them with ease and the balance is good. Look forward to giving it a go!

Oh wow... that's super impressive and actually looks quite a useful setup 😀

You're giving me ideas now... Mewlon, FC-100DZ and FS-60Q in a triple arrangement 🤔😆

Those tough trucks are like quadraphenia for dobs.

Also the guy with the deer stalker must be a kindred spirit of mine.  Ear flaps are a vital piece to any hat.  They keep the ears warm and rotated can be used as a quick eye patch.

Fantastic anecdote Mike, I have read all of Roger’s reviews as he has looked through some seriously nice scopes. It’s probably not what I wanted to hear though!
The 100DL sounds like my dream scope, it’s the one that grabs my attention the most, especially with my love of planetary viewing. Sadly they must be rarer than rocking horse poo on the 2nd hand market.

It’s always periods of inclement weather that get me dreaming of “bigger and better” kit. I mustn’t forget what a wonderful scope I currently have, there’s a chance it might clear tonight so hopefully I get a chance to remind myself.

Don’t suppose it would hurt to start saving either though…

I think A DL is an excellent choice when you can get one. Being a proud owner of one myself, I can testify to their greatness! I’ve had a number of views of Jupiter, with equal if not even more detail as shown in Mikes excellent sketches. Best of luck with the search!

I’ve wondered for a while about telescope “nomenclature“ in general, but Japanese scopes in particular, especially Takahashi. E.g. TSA, TOA, DF, DC, DZ etc.

From looking at and drooling over the pics of the Japanese store above I’ve discovered that “TOA” stands for Triplet Orthoscopic Apochromat. “D” stands for Doublet. So what is the “S” in TSA? Short?

So many threads to choose from: show us your frac, what did the postman bring, etc. But obviously this is the place to be!

Thanks to @surfindogg, I am the new custodian of this little beauty. And thanks to everyone on this forum for not buying my TS90 mount, so I have somewhere appropriate to put my new scope😃.

It's gonna feel weird doing wide field; up until now, my fastest scope was f/13.8! This scope will also be doing plenty of miles on my dark site travels in Kazakhstan.

Wow 🤩 two TSA 120’s and a Mewlon, suppose it saves money on another pair of MB II’s BV’s 🤣

PS mount & tripod look the biz as well 👍
