  1. Stunning image. lovely detail and contrast. I'm afraid you'll have to do the rest of the moon now.
  2. Great image, lovely colours. I don't think it needs any Ha.
  3. That looks much better, I think you've got it about right here. Post processing is about gentle manipulation to tease out the best.
  4. Well done, flats work a treat.
  5. Well done, big improvement over the years especially with the core.
  6. I think your focus looks off. If you're having trouble then I would suggest trying a Bahtinov mask.
  7. Lovely image Carole, really like the marmalade fringing.
  8. The data looks ok to me, one thing to note is that galaxies generally need longer exposures than clusters. The cluster looks good to me but the galaxy might just a bit light on data. Maybe try 3 minutes and 5 minutes (maybe longer if your guiding is good and there's not too much sensor noise. Your cluster may take it as it's not too dense so shouldn't blow out too much. Worth experimenting with as its a nice image combination.
  9. Process the alignment and stacking separately just as you have with the previous steps. Make sure that you use the same "best" image for alignment for each stack. Once stacked, open up and discard rejection high and low, save each separate stack. You are now ready to post process. Some processes can be done before channel combination like Dynamic Crop, DBE, noise reduction.
  10. Yes, move the mount alignment bolts not the mount motors. With a little tweaking I can get under 6" accuracy.
  11. Yes, if you set up your camera profile in Ekos you should be able to run the PA that build in to the Alignment module.
  12. Lovely set of images especially the coloured granulation.
  13. Yes to a certain extent. In the mount control, tick meridian flip, tick hours, input the time past MF you want. Its decimal so 0.1 will be 6 minutes past MF. The mount should then auto flip once it has past the time set and finished its current exposure. I've set mine to 0.05, others up to 0.15 or more.
  14. Okay, try click Options on the lower right of the Ekos window, then INDI and tick Independent Window under Display.
  15. Lovely image John, the 3nm Ha does look good and sharp.
  16. Lovely prom and good surface detail in the first shot.
  17. Well done, you've got the wily outer arms showing.
  18. A very good start. I wouldn't go higher than 1600, maybe try 800 or in between but have a go at progressively longer exposures. The better your polar alignment is the better the tracking will be and the longer you can expose. There will be a maximum useable exposure which will depend on how noisy your camera sensor is, have a close look at different length exposures to see how much background noise you have. You should really be calibrating with darks as well.
  19. Excellent work, that's a lot of galaxies for one frame.
