Hi all, I'm Anish and I live under the light polluted skies of south east Essex. This hasn't stopped me from spending the evening out looking at stars. I'm very new to all this, so don't really know the night sky very well, however, equipped with a star map and a pair of 8x20 binoculars, I've had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. I even managed to snap a couple of pics on my camera, pretty shoddy compared to everything else I've seen on here, but I felt extremely pleased with myself for finding Andromeda and the Pleiades. Hi Anish,

IMHO all your effort and dedication to find these targets equipped only with a star map and a pair of 8x20 binoculars and to accomplish to take these images is what really counts !

That's the right and proper way to get to know and understand Astronomy. Crisp and beautiful images of targets in the night sky is something that you will accomplish but getting to know the night sky this way will help accomplish/earn more than that...! Congrats !

Very nice pics!

On my first night out with a 12inch Dob I brough with me tripod, camera, spare battery, shutter cable, etc, but failed to get any milky way pic. I thought my shutter cable died but no, I plugged it in in the wrong direction!

So Cong for a good start :)
